One of my friend booked this rate and called the hotel for confimation.,

and the hotel offered a rate of 50,000KRW

What up with this hotel? I got a huge reservation in a couple of months. I would like to get refunded now if this turned out to be a waste of time.

Yes, if you have been charged that is news.
Perhaps you mean you just want to cancel ?

edit:
a few weeks ago I sent an email asking them to confirm.
Received no reply. I am probably going to cancel closer in,
as I can't see using this under any scenario.
(Nothing to do with radiation).

Yes no need of the reservations now as the nuclear winds-sorry for me having less nuclear knowledge...... (but I do feel sympathy toward Japan and beyond)

I still can't see going to Pohang,
but having two emails to the hotel manager ignored.....
I contacted Wyndham Master Control center, and this should help:

Hello MrHalliday,

I have reviewed your confirmation in our reservation system and your confirmation reflects the same details that you provided in the email confirmation below. The property would also have this same information in their system. You should encounter no issues at check in. If you have any further questions or concerns please do not hesitate.
