For questions on NEW applications for US Airways cards please use this thread:
USAirways CC special Offer 40K + 10K Bonus; AF not waived

Official: 10k annual bonus for existing cardholders will continue beyond 2014

Note: All links are expired

We will leave this thread open for questions from existing cardholders who applied using offers with the perpetual annual 10k bonus. Otherwise, please post on the ongoing thread on standard offers:
Current Offers: USAirways cards with no annual mileage bonus

Current Links:
30k + 10k anniversary + no annual fee for the first year (now says "Offer expired"); terms and conditions include offer specifics
[NOTE: Barclays is erratically enforcing the restriction "for Preferred members only," especially for those who leave off a membership number on the application. See recent experiences reported in the thread.]

There is a separate thread for a 40k+10k offer with $89 annual fee, no anniversary bonus: USAirways CC special Offer 40K + 10K BT Bonus; AF not waived

Expired Links:
30k at signup, 10k anniversary bonus, 10k with balance transfer, no fee first year - Landing Page (Ended 4/30/14)
Older 35K Link (older link not working)
Newer 35K Link (click on terms and conditions to see 35K bonus after first purchase, first year fee waived, and 10K anniversary bonus)

1) I applied for this card but got the message
We apologize for the inconvenience, but our website is experiencing technical issues.
Please contact us at 1-866-419-6437 or try again later.
What does this mean? What should I do?

Check your application status by visiting http://www.myapplicationstatus.com/

At Barclays, if you already have an online account, the card can also show up there before you get a notification from them. Obviously, that won't work if you don't yet have an online Barclays account from another card. But if it's not your first US card, you presumably do have an online account already.

2) What's the reconsideration line number?

866-408-4064. Only open M>F, 8am>5pm, Eastern.

3) How long after my first purchase does it take for the bonus miles to post in my account?

Miles for the first-purchase bonus post with the statement showing the initial purchase.

4) For those people who got the targeted offer, how long after spending $750 in each of the 3 months does it take for the bonus miles to post in my account?

Miles posts two months after the end of the promotion period. For example, if your promo was to spend in June, July and August, the 15k bonus would post with October statement.

5) How can I get the anniversary 10K bonus points without paying the annual fee?

The annual bonus posts on the statement date of the month of anniversary. No need to "kick out" a statement. But if you are worried, you can put a few bucks on the card during that cycle thus generate a statement but it is NOT necessary.

AF is billed the last business day of the month of the anniversary (much better than Chase practice which is on the 1st day of the month). You have 60 days to cancel the card for the AF to be reversed. You also can use SM to cancel card and no need to call.

Note: I called to cancel the card (June, 2014), told them it was because the AF was too high, and they waived it. Still got the 10,000 points and the Companion Certs!!

Or.... do I just need to play call center roulette again :-)

(apologies for double posting this in a thread in the us airways forum - i think that was the wrong place for it)
Churnable if you receive instant approval.

Very difficult if you do not.

Extreme low ratio of being successful thru recon.

Thanks for the feedback - looks like I'm out of luck. I did not freeze my IDA / ARS accounts, so I will have to try that in a few months if/when I apply for this card again.

Data point: Instantly approved yesterday for my 3rd USAirways card. Last application was in 4/13 and that card is still open. First application was in 7/12 - that account was closed in 7/13.

Is it US Bank or Barclays that uses the IDA / ARS? I thought it is US bank?

Had to call an underwriter. He insisted that the only way to open the card was to cancel my US Air card. He mentioned the NFL and US Air were both opened recently in the conversation.

The forced cancellation of my Arrival card has scared me into not opening another. It's been about 6 months from the last US Air card. Has anyone else been in this situation before? Should I apply now or wait 6 months from the application date of the Arrival card?
Didn't get any feedback so I applied. APPROVED.

I haven't been able to get card #2 here, but data point on the wife:

Got approved for card #2. Got the technical difficulty page, went to check app status, and instant approval for $5k. First card opened on 4/10/13. Card still open.

Last time I applied for #2, they denied for too many inquiries.

May give it one last shot before completely disassociating myself with Barclay's apps.

If one was recently added as an authorized user on another person's US Air card, would that have an effect going for US Air #2? The AU card already showed up on CK as a "new" account, and I know Barclay doesn't like to see that.

Person 1: US Air 1/2013 #1 instant approval
Person 2: US Air 1/2013 #1 instant approval

Both denied for US Air #2 in May app-o-rama (too many inquiries and new accounts)

Person 2: Added as AU from Person 1 on 10/2013

Thinking of going for US Air #2 in 11/2013.

Thanks

I got this card in April '12, and a second card early this year. I cancelled the first one but my second card is still 'live.' Do you think I can get the Barclays Miles & More card? Does anyone have this card and M&M? Thanks in advance!

I got this card in January of 2013 and got M&M in June. Tried to get an NFL card in-between (March?) and was denied, FWIW.

Is the link in the wiki dead? I tried three times and keep getting:

"For your security and protection, this session has expired due to inactivity. If you wish to apply for a credit card, please enter your information and submit a completed application within 30 minutes."

And when I check on the status it says no apps have been submitted by me in the last 90 days.

I had this problem too. Give it a rest and apply in 24 hours. Seems to be a technical issue on the application page's end (not your fault).

I used it in July/August/September for the $750/month 15,000 points offer. I haven't seen these bonus points post but don't expect to before my November statement.

The only other use on the card was a 1st purchase to activate the opening bonus points back when I first opened the card.
