Generally Credit Card instalments will earn points won't they? The ones where you pay off a purchase over 12 months interest free?

And specifically I'm asking about Citibank.

The value of the HK version of this card keeps on diminishing every year. I've kept it this year, but doubt will carry on further than this year. Basically all you are getting now is HK$2.5k for 20k AM or Avios. The other benefits have diminished greatly, especially the concierge and the 4th night free. I do need to weigh in the yearly bonus (about 15% which I get, but at the moment the card is now pretty much just for foreign and online spend only).
yeah im struggling to see much value left in this card tbh. Btw, how do you get avios instead of AM?

I think theworld is trying to say the welcome gift comes in the form of 240,000 Prestige points instead of 20,000 AM now.

18,000 Prestige points can be exchanged for 1,500 AM or 1,500 Avios

Just to add, I think they have changed it further so you can redeem on a range of FFP's and not just Avios and AM now.

I didn't redeem last Avios 30%. Was tempted but thought my Citi points was more valuable as Citi points until I know what I need to redeem.

Congratulations, you've just contributed to the parallel trade of milk powder with China.

Parallel traders and their associates go queue for milk powder at Mannings (same thing happens with PNS) http://hk.apple.nextmedia.com/news/a...30124/18144659 (start at 0'15")

[Some coupon traders we deal with take in coupons in one apartment and milk powder next door]

Then the milk powder makes its way across the border http://cablenews.i-cable.com/ci/vide...6939;作/

This trade is worthwhile because of i.) VAT and import duty evaded and ii.) Mainland importers charge a premium for their product compared to their prices outside China - partly to pay [what you have to pay to do business in China] and partly profiteering - and parallel trading has not fully arbitraged the difference.

It might not be milk powder - last New Year my missus and I were flabbergasted by the amound of Ferrero Rocher that's on our KCR Futian train.

HSBC extra 5X for overseas spending to 17 Feb (capped to 200RC)

https://www.redhotoffers.hsbc.com.hk...nding-rewards/

Again
Promo rate (6X): $4.16/AM
Promo with Visa Signature (9X): $2.77/AM
Promo with Visa Signature and Rewards of Your Choice 6X (14X): $1.79/AM

Divide the rates by 1.5 for Avios

Capped at 200 extra RC means spending cap of $10,000

Do DCC transactions still count toward overseas category bonus?

Since they technically settle in HKD rather than foreign currency.
Not sure if it differs between SCB or HSBC, both are running bonus overseas spend. If I max out the SCB $1.5/mile I would want to move on to the HSBC one
