These E-Cert's are separate and distinct from the free US nite for spending over $10K and paying the annual fee. My question relates to the expiration. The certificates expire August 31, 2016. Does this mean travel has to be completed by then or the certificates have to be redeemed by then (but can be for travel after Aug 31, 2016)? I booked a large number of reservations burning almost all my Club Carlson points before the devaluation. There aren't too many high end places I haven't either booked or have on reserve that I would have interest in going to.

Wife and I both signed up for the card around November of last year. So neither of us have paid the annual fee yet. We both spent just enough to qualify for the 85,000 bonus points (no where close to $10,000). Both of us kept our accounts open.
I received the letter about the 7500 bonus points and free night certificate. She didn't receive either.
Only difference is that I filed a complaint with the BBB for my account, but others have noted that they didn't complain and still received the points and free night. I wonder how US Bank/Club Carlson are determining who they send these out to.

The first person I talked to before I was transferred to a supervisor found some information that said they've issued 3,500 of these certificates in total. I'm not sure that makes sense at all but it's what she said.

I just looked at the Club Carlson account on twitter, and in a response to @Walkerngr, the Carlson rep states that the certs were sent to, "a random select group of members."
So, assuming that the twitter rep is correct (which I realize is a big if):
- not all cardholders will receive a certificate
- spending patterns and account history didn't play much if any role in determining who received the certs.
Seems like a pretty terrible way to run a promo, imo, but, it is their company so they can call the shots I suppose.

Wondering when the very last day that one can use the cert
Is? Would it be for the night of August 16, August 17 or August 30 or 31 or some other date?
I believe my cert was emailed on the 17th, not completely sure due to my antiquated email, and that it says that it is valid for a year.
Thanks Carlson, I will use it

There's no way that they just sent the certs to some members randomly. That makes no sense at all. Businesses don't operate like that. It just means the person running the twitter page doesn't know who got them.

I have not received the 7500 pt bonus letter nor this free night e-cert letter. Does not appear this promo is for every cardholder. I am pissed! I just paid my af two months too thinking I would still give them a chance. WTH USBANK/CLUBCARLSON!!!!! I hope you are reading this... cuz it is just so messed up. Where is my "appreciation for your continued support and for being a loyal club carlson visa cardholder"

1. Eliminate the last night free credit card benefit
2. Significantly increase the point requirement for most of the top hotels
3. Randomly provide some card holders free points and/or nights while essentially giving the middle finger to others
Excellent program.
