It was my birthday yesterday, and I ended up working until 8pm, so I only managed to get a few drinks and something to eat at the hotel. Rather than a night out in London.

So, I decided to 'work from the hotel' this morning. Currently sat out in the sunshine on the terrace of the hotel lounge, enjoying a leisurely breakfast and reading FT.

Very nice way to spend a few hours before my train back to Manchester

Next week it is off to New York in Upper Deck, with the family. Have a nice weekend, all of you.

Very well researched! If your memory isn't so good you might have to similarly research OAP (as in T8191) - now that 'the other thread' has had its spring clean.

As for my Friday - the views over Cairo this afternoon probably aren't as stunning as those of Guildford (although possibly a little more lively).

"Senior Citizen" is the preferred term these days, IIRC.

POETS was particularly pertinent in the military, of course. Many people worked and lived on base all week, and commuted to their distant homes on Fridays. Beating the traffic became rather significant, as I knew well (Stanmore to Huntingdon up the A1 before the Hatfield Tunnel was built/completed). The queues of carriages and stagecoaches were an amazing sight.

TGIF

I am off today, so I will be watching Wimbledon, then get a takeaway when the misses gets home. It's a lovely sunny day in MAN so a couple of beers in the garden are on the cards. As far as BA goes, I am not flying until August 20th!

At BUD waiting for a delayed SN flight before a weekend on the beer, frites and moules in Antwerp. A messy end to a week that started messily at Glastonbury.

Off to officially start my summer... Having an incredible tomato (gringo auto correct) salad, with a Minuty rose and to finish a cheese platter...

Nice to hear you are returning

Oh, you will then have to do ex-'EU' TP runs to the States once you're back.

You wouldn't want to be a Silver would you ?
