Given the current rates, we're looking at either the Delano or Palazzo. Any recommendations on which one would be best for us?

Also, since we both have Plat cards, could we each book 2 nights at the same hotel to get $200 spa or credit? Or would this be frowned upon?
If you checked out and checked back in under a the other name, you could probably get away with getting the 2 credits. If you wanted to keep the same room, probably not. And if you checked out and back in, you would have to use the credits separately during each stay, which would probably be okay for an F&B credit but would likely be less useful for a spa credit unless you were already planning to do multiple separate spa days.

If you did 2 nights at one hotel and 2 nights at another, you would definitely be able to get 2 credits fully legitimately. Up to you whether that is worthwhile.

As for which of the two is better, would really need to know more about your preferences, but Delano does have the advantage of being able to get in and out of the building without needing to go through a casino at all. Which could be good for limiting long walks and avoiding cigarette smoke, although you'll be stuck inhaling lots of cigarette smoke any time you trek through a casino to get to a show anyway.

Delano is also just down the hall from my vote for the best current show in Vegas, Cirque du Soleil's Michael Jackson One at Mandalay Bay. Which would be worth going to even if you don't stay at Delano.

Don't know how you came up with your consideration set but Mandarin also worth considering if the price is within your range. The spa there is particularly excellent and it also avoids direct contact with a casino.

If Wynn Tower Suites are in your budget, they have a separate entrance completely secluded from the casino and also has a dedicated elevator bank and pool.

I can't comment on the Mandarin but have heard great things.

Sorry, I quoted the wrong post

Wynn Tower suites are great, they also aren't subject to the $40/day resort fee so can be a good value. But note they already include breakfast so the amex perks are somewhat diluted.

I think they are charging the resort fee now. I haven't stayed recently to confirm. But did a dummy booking and they are added.

I would like to book a room for May 2017, but I don't see many nights free offers. Will they come later? How this worked on the previous years? Thanks

I haven't stayed at the Delano since it became one, but I've stayed there when it was still The Hotel, and enjoyed the chilled and smoke free atmosphere.
Location wise however, it isn't great and I consider it to be on the "wrong side" of the strip, so my vote would go to the Palazzo which is one of my favorite Vegas resorts.

Agree re the Michael Jackson show, it's fantastic.

It seems to have gone significantly downhill. It has gone from being my favorite Vegas property to some place I'll stay because it's Cheap. I really hope they backtrack on some of there cost cutting measures.

Just curious what in particular you are referring to as cost-cutting measures? I can think of some ways that Delano could be called cheap (like charging for K-Cups in the minibar for the in-room coffee maker), but TheHotel wasn't terribly different in that regard, and in general most Vegas hotels do a lot more nickel-and-diming than similar-caliber hotels in other cities. So I don't necessarily hold it against Delano for doing so.

And room prices don't seem to be all that different as Delano from what they were at TheHotel. If anything they've gone up a bit. TheHotel was definitely known as a bargain option among Vegas's upper tier of hotels, especially on a per-square-foot basis.

It's more MGM-wide cost cutting especially with the bathroom toiletries.

Bellagio Las Vegas

Early Check-in: 11am check-in, room was ready

Late check-out: 4pm check-out offered, not used

Upgrade: Hotel was sold out, so no upgrades though given a nice view of the pool

Breakfast: $60 breakfast credit used at Bellagio Cafe

$100 Resort Credit: Used $40 for a spa day pass, which was great, rest used on dining

Wifi: $5 daily credit to resort fee, resort fee was not waived

See my full review of my FHR stay here with pictures: http://pointsmilesandmartinis.boardi...gio-las-vegas/

Just a few off the top of my head:

They switched from using Malin and Goetz toiletries to there own brand of terrible crap.

Robes are no longer placed in rooms, and they seem to have replaced the robes with cheaper versions.

Maintenance is really falling behind, two of the last three times, there have been electrical issues in my room. One of the toilets wouldn't flush (the water level was set too low).

You're supposed to get free Internet as an FHR perk. Las Vegas casinos charge a resort fee to (allegedly) cover amenities such as free Internet. So, FHR now rebates a portion of the resort fee that it/the hotel deem attributable to free Internet. $5 in most (all?) cases.

Aria Sky Suites still in FHR?

Does anyone know if Aria Sky Suites is still in Amex FHR? It's no longer listed on Amex's website but I haven't found anything authoritative online confirming it's no longer part of the program.

Thanks
