I don't know which dates and rates are you looking at, but price wise, I don't think it is worth to splurge more than S$400 on this resort. Yes, the resort grounds are huge and idyllic (except during breakfast where the restaurant was packed with people, some with kids who didn't know how to behave), rooms are newly renovated with new fittings but the softwares like guest services are very lacking. Certainly not up to the Sofitel standard I know of. I would give the guest services an average rating of 3.75 out of 5.

One example was the poor follow-up for the lack of shaving amenities in the room. No delivery of the kits within an hour after first call. Made a 2nd call later and still nothing happened. I gave up after waiting more than 3 hours and checked out of the resort with a stubble and goatee.

P.S. Booked luxury room and wasn't given an upgrade. Reason was that it was a complimentary Accor Plus stay. That of cos to me was a crap reason for I had a similar complimentary stay at Pullman HK where an one-category pre-arrival upgrade and lounge access was given.

Why are they not giving you the bonus points for room at least? It was booked within the qualifying period right?

I'm looking a room for mid Jun and get 322 EUR/night (~ 497 SGD), entry level room, prepaid rate, breakfast not included. I find it expensive. I'm a Sofitel guy but in SIN Novotel - or maybe even Ibis - starts to look more attractive Accor option after reading reviews on this forum.

Complimentary breakfast for 2 is provided for Platinum members in lieu of lounge access. I think it has been mentioned in the reviews. For your considerations, June is the month where Singapore schools are having holidays so room rates may be higher and there may be a bigger breakfast crowd.

Search more, by June 2 more property should be up. Ibis Style ( quite a distance from (CBD) Mercure Singapore Middle Road (Opening May 2016 - date had been change from March to April and now to May).

Been monitoring reviews on this property on tripadvisor and it seems its not improving at all.

I have a big family event coming end of this year and was planning on booking the 2BR Villa for two nights. I'm seriously contemplating if I should drop the thought of staying here.

Starflyergold to mirror your experience here is one of the more recent reviews:\

Hotel check-in is at 3pm, we arrived slightly early and was told no rooms are ready, so we were directed to enjoy our welcome drinks at the Le Bar. At 4.15pm, when we checked at the check-in counter again, we were informed that we have to wait for another 1 to 2 hours as all the rooms are being cleaned. The hotel was filled with at least another 10-20 guests in the same plight as us waiting for their rooms in the humidity at either Le Bar, hotel lobby (both non-airconditioned) or at the swimming pool.

In the end, we requested for a full refund which the check-in staff told us their finance have been informed and will process.
Per hotel staff's advice, we arrived sharply at 3 pm , the check-in time. Sofitel said we would not be able to check in the room since "it was full booking yesterday ; they couldn't finish room clean-up".

We wait until 7:30pm...room still not available. 4 hours waiting without fixing the issues that make me wonder what happen to this company who charged us 650SGD a night.

We finally decided to cancel and go home . Terrible
These two reviews were both in the past week.

These two reviews were both in the past week.

I just recently had a stay there. 3 nights ago and am horrified by how they treat their Accor Plus members. I have NEVER encountered an issue with using my Accor Plus card at Pool Bar ever and when I tried to use it here, it was denied. Then when I escalated it to the FOM, he literally printed out the T&Cs to show me it was on the T&Cs and told me it was to the discretion of the hotel to allow or not. Obviously the managers here have no discretion and goodwil to do so as they really clamped down on Accor Plus., as I have never gotten a rejection for my Accor Plus card at a pool bar before. They even just told me that usual dining benefit would be reduced from 50% to only 10% for everyone for Sunday Brunch. Seriously....are you kidding me. I even asked for an explanation and there was no reply. It's like the hotel is greedy about money and cost saving.

Also, the treatment of Le Club guest is now very bed. I think they hardly even recognise a good status. Really a pity man, I love this resort, the rooms, pool and the ambience. But the status recognition and the treatment of Accor Plus guest is HORRIBILE.

Also to add on, when I was checking in, there were many guest there were checking in and were told no rooms are available as I overheard their conversation. Then when it was my turn, they greeted me and checked my name, they said 'Oh Welcome back Mr xxxxx' (I was a complain guest previously and made alot of noise, ready my previous review to know more) and she then proceed to call someone and inform them to quickly change my room and said, oh we have a room available for you.

Beyond expectations

Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort And Spa

Beyond expectations (16 Photos)

Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort And Spa

A few days ago I questioned how things are with this property. It didn't look too optimistic as there were some rather scathing TA reviews online. With a long weekend approaching, I checked the rates and saw that they were pretty decent. T-4 days we booked a Luxury Garden Room.

I wanted to see and feel the hotel for myself as we have a rather large event coming up in November and my wife was adamant that she wanted to book the Villa there.

I have to add a small disclosure though. I do know one of the senior staff at this hotel and that may have helped the stay being flawless. Nevertheless, I truly believe they are trying hard.

Others have posted a lot of pictures from the property so I will not repost the pool etc.

Check In

I asked for an early check in and received an email back asking what time that would be. I requested for 10am, arrived at 9:50am - and the room was ready.

I was told that we were upgraded to a 72sqm Prestige Family Suite for our one night stay. This was a triple upgrade. Next level up is the Imperial Suite (typically meant for wedding guests) and the the 2 Bedroom villa (more on that later).

We were escorted to our room which was on the same level as the reception.

Room

The room was exceptionally nicely decorated. Unfortunately due to the hotel design, the living room did not let in much natural light, but that was ok for us.

This suite is split into two rooms, a bedroom and a living room (ensuite is attached to the living room). The living room has a large sofa which converts to a sofa bed. Bedroom has a large King-sized bed with a small sofa by the window.

The hotel had made up both the sofa bed as well as an extra bed in the bedroom, allowing us to chose which one we preferred for our daughter - the sofa bed of course.

I'll let the pictures describe the room.

Service

The first thing we did was hit the pool and while doing so, we were welcomed with the usual plate of snacks with cakes etc. Our little girl got a seperate plate of M&Ms, gummy bears etc. They also placed a bottle of red wine on our table.

Skipping ahead: we asked to view the 2BR villa and the lovely Vicky of Guest Relations showed it to us. That evening we had on our table several chocoalte pralines and a personal note from her too. Very nice - all gone :)

Coming back to the 2BR Villa, here are some pictures. All Villas (4 of them) have 2Bedrooms. They all have a private parking lot in front of them, ensuites in both bedrooms and a private pool attached. Here are the pictures:

Dining

We had lunch and breakfast at Kwee Zeen - typical fare, nothing outstanding.

Dinner we had at ilLido, which was their higher end restaurant. They had a special menu with White Asparagus and I have to say that was excuisite!

Note too: After much argumentwith the owners, the normal discount structure for Accor Plus members has just been reinstated. Good news!

Location

Location wise it's away from the Singapore "rush" which is very nice. The hotel operates half-hourly suttle service TO RWS and VIVO (note: no pickup from RWS when coming back!) and hourly shuttle to Paragon on Orchard Road.

The Sentosa Island Bus #3 also pulls into the Sofitel driveway as a stop.

Another thing to note is the (it seems) quite popular Spa attached to the Sofitel. It is a bit of a hike from the Sofitel or you can use their complimentary buggy service.

The Spa also has a kids club on the second floor (complimentary for hotel guests for the first 2hr) as no children are allowed in the Spa / allowed to us the Spa facilities (which are really nice). - We didnt use the Spa as we will be in Bangkok this weekend ;)

Overall

I have to say I was really impressed. It looks like they have sorted out manythings. Some small things are still a bit sticky (ie, Asked at Kwee Zeen about thedaily meal board for kids under MyKids promo - they advertise it throughout the hotel. Waitress didnt have a clue. Went to the reception and they signed me up. Walked back to the restaurant where the manager then asked me if I had the MyKids voucher - "No, reception didnt give me anything". But they quickly sorted it out). But certainly not a biggie!

We came away relaxed, wife and daughter are happy (most important!) and we all agree that we will stay here in November for our event.

For a couple of weeks, until lots of A+ members complained (including you ), it was 15% on everything.

By the way, refer to your post, it's not the hotel manager/accor etc who decide on this. It's the property owners who decide to implement such nonsense. But good on Accor Plus in Singapore to reverse the stupid decision the owners made.

Thank you for the report. The room looks very nice. Good to see this report going back to a good level of service after the average reports we read before yours.

Thanks for the report. Looks and sounds good! Will see how things goes when a normal mortal, I without any connection to the hotel, visit the place next month. Did you receive complimentary breakfast and drink vouchers?

Ah. Forgot about that. I booked a rate with breakfast (as that was the cheapest available anyway) so can't comment on that as a benefit.
Drink vouchers, yes. There seem to be three types of vouchers. As a Plat you get the top tier which includes any alcoholic drink - and as such must be consumed at Le Bar and not by the pool. We don't drink and wanted our mocktails by the pool.

Which created a small scene as I had to insist a couple of times that "Yes, I know the value is so much more with alcohol... But I DON'T DRINK "

By the way, the pool attendants were very attentive and made sure everyone was happy and had drinks around the pool.

I heard the same from the Accor plus sales as well is the OWNER Royal Group decision who also own the Sofitel So Singapore. Luckily the next Sofitel will not be theirs.
