I then walked over to the QF sales desk and a different lady helped me with my query. She also expressed her concern that there's a chance the flight may depart late as the crew haven't arrived at the airport yet and there were no reserve crews to take the flight due to staff shortages. She did contact the lounge angels about my predicament, and if I decided to can the trip to book my own flight to SYD so it wouldn't affect my refund. I am HLO so I can offload myself close to ETD.
