The longest Friday of my life became significantly shorter with diversion to BNE plus 4 hours of flying in circles still making Friday a very long day. A backup flight system had failed and due to the aircraft not having the ability to dump fuel, and SYD having a curfew, we went to the nearest airport with a Qantas maintenance facility.
