I'm awakened by an announcement from the flight deck that a backup flight control system has failed, and they aren't enthused to continue flying to HNL. There's no guarantee that it can be repaired or replaced there, and for risk mitigation, even though it is a redundant system, always good to have the backup working. And fair enough too, I can't be mad about that. The issue is that this aircraft doesn't have the facility to dump fuel, so for a safe landing weight, so we do loops for 4 hours.
