Hello - I am looking for someone who can give me info about importing European beauty products in large quantities - I am more than willing to send many boxes of zip-lock bags in return for your help! Thanks-

I haven't needed to purchase beauty products but I do get English Tea - PG Tips - online. I agree that websites are the best way to go these days. One thing I would also suggest is looking into Douglas - a beauty product store that is popular in Germany. I have seen it around American cities lately. They might carry some of their European brands.

I realize this is a long-dormant thread, but I just wanted to thank you for these tips -- I realized today that my cleaning woman hung up my Boots mango & jojoba bath gel in such a way that the contents ran out. After a slight meltdown in the shower this morning, I was crossing my fingers as I searched FlyerTalk, and found this thread. The irony -- I was in Dublin in December and almost went nuts at Boots but didn't want to check a bag, even though they were having buy 1 get one free! Woe is me! But fortunately, FlyerTalk to the rescue -- britsuperstore.com is saving me (and they even carry Mr. CheapSk8's favorite Marks & Spencer crisps)!

I am so happy for you, CheapSk8. I know how frustrating it can be when you can't get your hands on your favorite stuff.

Fortunately for me, I have found equivalent product for most of my needs, except hairspray. By the grace of God, I have international FlyerTalk friends who manage to keep me supplied with hairspray. Additionally, I load up Hunki's extra suitcase space once or twice a year and make him check his bag on our return flight to the US. I can't load up mine because it is always packed to the gills before I leave home.

He is a natural beauty, but I need my stuff.

Punki - a quick google search and see the Elnett Satin ( normal & extra strength) can be found at: http://www.beautyhabit.com/elnett.html
I noticed, they also carry Embryolisse cream, which is quite hard to find in the US.

If you have a Target or CVS nearby, both are carrying Boots products now. I definitely saw Boots bath gel at Target...I think mango & jojoba is one of the botanics varieties? They carry a nice selection of botanics in-store.

I was just going to post this. While I hadn't seen a Boots section in SoCal, there's one at the Target near me in Bellevue.

I should have noted that -- I've been buying the face wipes there so I checked the one near my house and they, alas!, don't have the mango and jojoba flavor there. But maybe I should check some others this weekend. . . .

My Dear, beauty product are never dormant - ever. I never have been down this part of the Board as BA keeps me far too busy. I have my own salon shampoo which is - in the UK at least only available to hairdressers. Remember when you come to the UK that there is a Boots in the Terminals at LHR and LGW which stock most - but by no means all it is true - of all gels and liquids so that you can blow yourself up with whatever you buy there with all the things that are too big to be allowed though security .

Ms Punki - I once did what you do with your Other Half. Packing dear - relax! The only problem was that when he got stopped in customs with a large quantity of Bobbi Browne and nail varnish remover that you have in the US. He was not amused. The custom's officer suspected it was either for his own use (he does not have five o'clock shadow more a total eclipse of his skin) or commercial purposes. I had told him to wait for me and he insisted on going ahead "to sort the car out". As I came through he said to the Customs officer "Ah - here she is now"

I said "Who's she - the cat's mother? Who are you?"

I am not sure that he has ever truly forgiven me but he certainly has not forgotten the incident. He thinks that I was ready to deny my marriage for a cheap laugh. How right he was!!

I have been buying Boots products at my local Target SuperStore for over a year. So far the prices have not inflated with the decline of the $.

I always do this sort of shopping without Mr. Penny as he does not understand.

Just checked Target via AA eshopping. They have the entire Boots line (free shipping if you spend $50) including the No. 7 stuff for those of us who want to slow down the aging process.

Fantastic!

I am going to France Friday and can pick up some small items- Punki, do you need hairspray? I will be in Scandinavia in August and my ex is currently in Ireland ( although he is not entirely reliable so I can't guarantee what he'll bring back) so if there are any Swedish/Irish/French items needed, please let me know by Thursday.

Thanks, Joy. How very sweet of you to offer.

I have since become enamored of L'Occitane shampoo and conditioner, which I can actually buy in Seattle, as well as on the internet. I even took some with me today to the salon when I got my hair cut. My hairdresser kept raving about how fabulously it smelled.

I found an on-line place to buy the hairspray, with amazingly cheap shipping, so I got eight travel cans, which should last me a while.

I had dinner with a couple Brits in LA last weekend...they were stocking up on Boots before heading back to England! It gave me a laugh.
