Curious why no skycaps in DEN?

Anyone know why there aren't skycaps in DEN? Kind of a pain navigating with a family and ski equipment and would greatly prefer to pay for the help, but none to be found past few trips through, so I figured they don't have them for some reason.

I haven't paid attention recently, but the main terminal is under extensive renovation (which I'm sure you noticed ) for a couple of years now which I assume is the reason.

At one point access north-south was cut off on some levels inside so you'd walk outside to get around it (so maybe they wanted to keep the path clear?), plus I imagine the luggage system was disconnected to the outside as they gutted the inside.

lol yeah, my wife's been waiting for the Amex lounge to open for years and it just keeps getting pushed back. We end up renting a few of the $6 carts but I'd rather give the money to a person than a stupid cart vendor.

Well, if you're flying United, here's what they're offering in terms of bag drop off: (https://www.united.com/ual/en/us/fly...rminal_Updates)
Denver bag drop

Denver International Airport (DEN) offers free bag drop and check-in service at the Transit Center and 75th Avenue to make it convenient for you to travel, baggage-free, from the time you arrive until you board your flight.
  • This service is for flights on United within the U.S. Flights to international destinations aren’t eligible for the bag drop service.
  • Drop your bags a minimum of 90 minutes before your flight.
  • Skip the ticket counter lines by checking your bag and getting your boarding pass.
  • This is a free service. Our bag fees still apply and can be paid at all bag drop locations.
  • Travelers with lap infants must go to the ticket counter for the child’s boarding pass.
Transit Center bag check: Check your bag at the Transit Center and get your boarding pass before you head up to the terminal and through security.
  • Location: Transit Center, Level 1 (below The Westin)
  • Hours: 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. (for flights departing as late as midnight)
75th Avenue drive-up bag check: Drive up and check your bag from the comfort of your car before you park. A greeter will remove your bags from your car, check you in for your flight and even print your boarding pass. Then, park in one of the lots or head to the terminal, baggage-free. Upon arriving at the terminal, head directly to security.
  • Location: 75th Avenue near the Pikes Peak parking lot
  • Directions: Exit Pea Blvd. at 75th Avenue, proceed straight through the Gun Club intersection and follow signs to the Bag Check queue
  • Hours: Saturday through Thursday, 4 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Friday, 4 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Fwiw, the Centurion Lounge is open now (just opened last Monday). Only open like 7-3pm or something like that right now with COVID and all, but at least it's open.

Thanks; I'd heard of that but unfortunately it appears closed: https://www.flydenver.com/easycheck

Wow great news! I'm here skiing now, so we'll check it out on the way back home.

Good but unfortunate. Given the current importance of DEN within UA's hubs, UA probably needs to come up with a better response.

UA Insider : Are you out there? The DEN bag drop info is stale and there's a bunch of skiing customer who need service.

Wow, in the lounge right now, this place is awesome. Got here four hours ahead of flight so had to wait a bit before we could get a slot to gain entry, but bruschetta, pasta, crepes, a few excellent old fashioned's, tiramisu, super nice bartenders and staff, incredibly clean everywhere. So far so good. Definitely not a Delta lounge lol.
