Would love to share my recent frustration with spending VS points on Korean Air flights. Flight availability (LAX-ICN-SIN) was confirmed by using both VS and Delta portals. Could not get the trip ticketed and called VS rep, only to be told that IT problems surrounding Korean Air have been there since day 1 (after joining Skyteam). The same problem goes for China Airlines. VS points are just not as easy to use as DL miles, even though the platforms are quite similar. Let's see when these problems will be solved.
Ended up booking the exact same reward seat with Delta at an unfortunate premium. Hope this gets sorted soon.

Minor nit VA = Virgin Australia and VS = Virgin Atlantic. The VS website will show Delta and AF flights. Delta J to Europe for partners is probably approaching unicorn status these days so not a huge surprise you aren't finding much there. AF should show up on the VS website though it will almost assuredly error out when you try to book it and you will have to call in to book. I have searched (on website) and booked (by calling in) multiple AF flights in J over the last 12 months using VS points. Keep in mind AF only releases some of its saver space to VS. You may want to use Delta website to see what AF award space is showing for Delta. If the AF flights aren't showing available on points to Delta it is highly unlikely VS will show them.

Aeroplan. It’s painstakingly slow though, doing a day-by-day search. I haven’t managed to get a calendar view to work.
Generally you will struggle for availability to the states, but it does pop up. The occasional Tokyo flight pops up too, but it’s a case of checking daily. I’ve never seen Singapore in J available after a lot of searching.
