Need help: Using flying club miles on Delta
I am trying to use Flying Club miles to book a Delta Airlines flight. My route is A-B-C, with B being a connection in Atlanta. Per the award chart published on the Virgin Atlantic website, I was expecting to pay 25k miles round trip.
I called Virgin, and was told that it would cost me 50k miles round trip, since they would have to consider A-B and B-C as two separate round trip bookings.
I find this rather absurd. Basically, this means you will get a round trip award for 25k on Delta only if Delta flies nonstop to your destination.
Can somebody please confirm whether this is indeed the rule? I am hoping it is not!
Thanks.

In the VS world of reward flights 1 flight is one leg. The only route on their system that isn't one leg is LHR- SYD via HKG - the return trip LHR- SYD has always been classed as four flights for mileage purposes.
Maybe they are just carrying their rules over to the Delta tie in?
It is still early days for VS systems and the Delta move. Don't expect it to be sorted and smooth for a long time. It may be on the list of things to be done after the website revamp is finished![Wink](https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif)
