Could those who are Elevate Gold chime in on their upgrade %'s to MCS?
I'm going to be doing some transcons and VX has the best routing for me - just wanted to get an idea of what to expect. Also- does the waived redeposit fee mean that SDC's are fee free for VX? SFO <> LAX depending on time of day it can 100% sure of an upgrade. SFO < > SEA has been good for me as well. > 75% You did not post the exact route, which could give us the ability to give you a more accurate answer. Note, I'm merely a Silver for the 3rd year, soon to be Gold. |

Could the FAQ in this thread be upgraded into a wiki? quite a bit of it seems out of date after 7 years as a mere sticky.

how about it please, kind moderators?

elevate points
Hi.
I have booked a reward flight with VX using my VS FC miles. Q. Will I earn Elevate or FC miles/points from a reward flight? Thanks |
F Meal Times
Flying out of JFK in F at 8:15 PM. Is there a full meal service on this flight?

Yes, there will be a full dinner. This is a premium route, so you will have an option of either a salad with a protein, a protein entree or a veggie entree. |
I'm thinking of flying SFO-HNL in F for the first time on VX.
Reading the FAQ's it looks like there might be a way to access the Virgin Atlantic lounge. But the HNL flight leaves at 8 a.m. Would the VS lounge be open then? And if so, does it really cost $40 to access, same as for Y pax? |
It won't be possible to access the VS lounge at that time. The VS lounge's hours are dictated by the times of the VS flight(s), which tends to mean some variation of 1430-2030 (or broadly thereabouts; I'd need to check when, exactly, the times are). It's only open for that full time when both flights run, too.

Question about traveling with an ESA animal on a VX flight. I understand their regular pet policy is that no pets allowed in MCS or FC, but their Service Animal page a bit vague on where ESA animals are allowed to sit.
It's clear for a service animal: "Service animals are allowed to accompany qualified individuals with a disability in any seat", but the emotional support animal section of the page does not specify as clearly. It just says "Emotional support animals may accompany a guest with a disability on a flight. Virgin America requires documentation to substantiate the Guest's disability-related need for the animal to accompany them in the aircraft cabin" Are guests with ESAs allowed to sit in MCS or FC? I understand MCS Exit Row may not be an option but what about the bulkhead MCS seats? Or what about row 2 of FC where it's not an exit row? http://virginamerica.custhelp.com/ap...pets/related/1 |
Booking Singapore/Silk with Virgin Elevate Miles
Does anyone know if I can book a SQ flight operated by SilkAir with Virgin Elevate miles? Apologies if this has been answered but could not find any search results for "Silk".
Specifically, looking for two tickets from SIN to USM (Ko Samui) direct. On SQ, it would be 21,250 miles plus $120 in fees (operated by SilkAir). On Virgin Elevate, it would be 7200 miles, plus $52, for SIN to BKK. Samui, however, is not an option to select here: https://www.virginamerica.com/cms/el...apore-airlines Flights from SIN to Samui look to be around $500-600 on SQ or Thai Airways (sometimes thru BKK). |

Increase in upgrade fees for Gold?
VX Gold. I'm on tomorrow's flight 713, DAL-SFO. I called and asked about the availability of 24 hour advance First Upgrade. The agent confirmed that I had been upgraded to MCS, and that there were 6 available seats in First. When he told me the total, it came to $110. Did they increase the price? (I've always paid $70.) Any thoughts?
