Can someone please help with official news from US government, regarding italian travelers from Northern ITALY:
1. if the traveler will be denied for entering US, like other travlers from Iran or China or S.Korea;
2. if allowed to enter, is the travler forced to stay in quarantine. even if the travler has no cold, cough or fever or other sympton?
Please keep updating with latest news.
Very appreciated.

Assuming that the person isn't a USA citizen or permanent resident, he or she would not be permitted to enter, which implies that he or she should not be permitted to board a flight to the USA.

From the US Embassy & Consulates in Italy website:
As of 12:00 AM March 3, all passengers on U.S.-bound flights whose temperature is higher than 99.5 degrees Fahrenheit are not being permitted to board. Travelers should be prepared for additional travel restrictions to be put into effect with little or no advance notice.

As I can see from the available information (US embassy, Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs ), the screening of checking temperature is applied to each traveler. However, the quarantine will be only applied to passenger arrived in US who is asymptomatic (cough, fever). What CDC is doing is only to SUGGEST asymptomatic traveler voluntarily stay in quarantine. It's their will to do it or not.
This is the situation I understand.

The risk to be denied travel is different than the risk to be denied entry. If someone who is to have been denied travel ends up in the US at a US port of entry, it's not always the case that such person can or even should be denied entry; and even if they should be denied entry, sending them back immediately may not even be possible and may actually be more problematic than trying to send them back immediately on the next flight back. People who should be denied travel for such circumstance probably would do themselves and others a favor by not traveling to seek entry.
