hitching across US in a layflat seat

hitching across US in a layflat seat
I am wondering if a European or Asian or any carrier that has lay flat seats in biz makes a stop in Mia or Dallas or Atlanta on the way to West Coast preferably Seattle but LAX will do. I am trying to get from Florida to Anchorage to catch a cruise and can't bare the thought of wrecking my back again. I am hoping someone knows of a carrier that picks up on East side of US with those lay flat seats and carrys on to West Coast. I doubt they will go all the way to Alaska.

I'm afraid you are 100% out of luck. There are no lie-flat options from Florida to Anchorage.
Air Canada is currently flying a Airbus 333 with lie-flat seats from FLL (Fort Lauderdale) to YYZ (Toronto). From there you can get to YVR (Vancouver) on AC which has (on selected flights) lie-flat seats. From YVR you will have to make do sitting upright. I doubt the connections will work in your favour, but give it a try on www.aircanada.com

This is such a good site and members are so knowledgeable. Many thanks. I will try and find out which AA flights Mia to LAX has lay flat and get there (half the battle) then stoically on to Anchorage. Some biz class seats in the newer planes are so hard I am in pain after 20 min due to bad back. Thanks you again.

Has to be a US carrier to fly within US. Whether or not a foreign carrier's aircraft physically flies the route doesn't matter. Even if you find a flight with a 180 recline seat, don't count on it. The few domestic routes which do have an intl. config. flight do frequent equpt substitutions. Expect that F in a 3-class TCON will be super-expensive.

CO flies their 752, at certain times, with lie flats from FLL-EWR and also EWR-LAX/SFO. You get a downgraded BF experience but I find it to be better than standard domestic F. You get lie flat seats, decent food, good AVOD. From LAX/SFO you're on your own in a regular recliner.

I am still trying to figure which AA flights (planes) have lay flats Mia to LAX. Can you hazard a guess please.
When you try to make a reservation at aa.com, the aircraft type for each flight should be displayed. The 777 and 763 aircraft types are the ones you want.

I feel your pain becaue I also have back problems. I had to endure the 767 & 757 on UA for LAX-OGG recently. Don't get me wrong, I was VERY grateful to be in F, but the seats were so cramped with so little recline, I can't imagine what it was like for those (with back problems) in coach.
I understand your need for lie flat seats and am ecstatic that I was able to get AA saver awards in F on the 777 for my upcoming LAX-MIA.
