US Emergency Landing at LAX?
Just coming in on AA 2495 and had to go around an emergency-landed US A321, registration N181UW (?). Looks like the bay doors (?) are touching the ground. All cabin lights appear to be off. Anybody have any more info?

Nothing in the news that I see yet, but not every such landing makes the news. It looks like N181UW came in from CLT as US 1975 with the normal SEAVU2 standard terminal arrival (http://flightaware.com/resources/air...STAR/SEAVU+TWO) into LAX, roughly parallel to I-10 through the LA basin, onto runway 25L or R, which would still probably be the fastest route in even if they declared a full emergency:

Nothing over on http://www.avherald.com/ yet either, but that could take a day or so.
Are you referring to the landing gear bay doors? As in a partial gear collapse or the aircraft went into the grass?

If it looked like the gear doors weren't retracted then maybe it was a hydraulic system failure where they had to manually put the gear down.

Hmmm... not sure. Whatever the problem was, this craft is now flying LAX - CLT. Very odd - it was surrounded by fire trucks last night and was stuck on the taxiway between T4 and TBIT.
Unfortunately, I couldn't tell you which doors were swung open; my knowledge of aircraft terminology is limited at best. It looked like it was between the landing gears, but not the landing gear doors themselves? What could that be?
