Nothing in the news that I see yet, but not every such landing makes the news. It looks like N181UW came in from CLT as US 1975 with the normal SEAVU2 standard terminal arrival (
http://flightaware.com/resources/air...STAR/SEAVU+TWO) into LAX, roughly parallel to I-10 through the LA basin, onto runway 25L or R, which would still probably be the fastest route in even if they declared a full emergency:

Are you referring to the landing gear bay doors? As in a partial gear collapse or the aircraft went into the grass?
