Yep. The news report I just saw said there were two F-15s scrambled to intercept the flight. If the general public only knew why fighter jets are deployed.
FNC just reported a female pax was acting in a surprising manner. Translation = nothing to see here folks.

I hope the Envoy passengers get PDB's before departing BGR!

How much closer/quicker could it have been to go to Bangor compared to Charlotte? 45 min? 99.9% of the time these things are just drunks or religious people wearing funny hats and praying. Just clear the runways at Charlotte and let the damn plane land there.

Probably nothing that'll affect your trip tomorrow. Your crew is likely already in Paris, so long as your plane comes in reasonably on time overnight you should be fine.

CNN is reporting that the woman claimed to have a "device" surgically implanted in her and that she was examined by a doctor and no recent scars were found.

Had one of these 'unscheduled' stops (Newfoundland) on a Delta TATL (also for a mentally unstable [crazy?] person) but we were fortunate to have on board a choir returning from a German tour. The crew was very grateful for their singing abilities. Kept us 'natives' from being too restless.

Another report is saying she handed a note to a FA saying she had a bomb implanted in her.
This sounds like a justified diversion.

Breathe easy...if there was / is a REAL problem, security will be doubled at CLt if not everywhere.

Once we have more facts we can form valid opinions about this particular incident, but it doesn't seem too controversial to say that if an aircraft is perceived to present a threat then it makes sense to force it down a.s.a.p. rather than letting it fly down the east coast.
