any other easy hits?

I only have one hotel program with 60 points. Spent some time figuring out how many hits I can get with paying next to nothing and not buying things I wouldn't for the Grand Slam....so here is a list of what I have in mind:

Credit card usage (will be receiving CC next week)
Dividend shopping mall
Skymall
download toolbar
share miles ($10)
buy miles ( i do plan to buy 80 to 100k with the bonus miles)
Dividend dining (will have extra 1000 miles as I just joined today, waiting to dine after September 15, 2011)
Biscoff
Office max
Emile
Ereward
Magazines ( would order anyways)
Supershuttle ( need it for my trip in december so If I pay now, hope i can get hit, if not, oh well)
Thanks again (GC for pizza joint i frequently visit)

Need two more for total of 16 hits...any suggestions...thought of U.S.A today for $20 and perhaps a cheap hotel stay for weekend trip

doubt I will be able to get 20 hits unless i am going to buy things I really don't need

Check on the USA Today. I thought that would cost more since US said certain partners couldn't be cancelled until 6 months after GS. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Would moderators mind merging this thread into another -- FAQ thread, perhaps -- as you see fit? Thanks.

USA Today is $20 for 4 weeks... and US Air has stated that any subscriptions cancelled before May 14, 2014 will cause all miles earned in GS to be forfeited. ALL.

So USA today is a minimum $120 hit. Subscribe with caution or desire to read. Do not subscribe just for a hit.

Thanks for the info. I don't plan to pay $120 for one hit.

swap miles using points.com. Many programs offer sing-up bonuses and you can transfer them using points.com. AFAIK there is no minimum required. Signup for choice privileges account and earn points using top guest. You can transfer 250 points (5 check ins) to US air and get 26 miles.

for second hit order some flowers using FTD or someone else.

I just realized choice privileges may not work as it will be considered as hotel transfer hit. Try Virgin america using top guest instead.

Another option is sign up for frontier early return which is giving 1000 sign up bonus and sign up for emiles with frontier to get another 500. Frontier needs min 1001 miles to transfer.

I already have emiles and I was thinking of using it to redeem for U.S. Dividend for one hit. Can i also do one for Frontier and count it as another hit?

Went to frontier..doesn't say anything about 1000 bonus miles. is there a link for this.

Googled frontier bonus and it is only 500 miles , 1000 bonus miles expired end of August. However, I didn't know so i was given the 1000 miles bonus.

or make it much easier and do 22DM ->1 Frontier (to get to 1001) ->184 DM
or 10 DM ->4 Asia ->1DM

Ouch, definitely missed the $30 processing fee + tax fine print until you mentioned this. Augh. But thank you!

One of the promos for Amex's "Link it, like it, love it" program on facebook is $10 off a $30 or more purchase from 1-800-flowers. I plan to use that to get a hit.

metoo Sep 5, 2011 11:34 am

Thanks all. I will definitely do the swap with points.com.

Does that count as a coupon and not give a hit?
