I KNOW there must be a thousand posts on this, but I can find none!

Simple ? - Mrs B W has lost her SQ PPS card and since neither of us maintain an RCC membership anymore can she come as my guest on my SQ PPS card while traveling together??

Be warned, though, that I've had my wife denied entry to the Chicago RCC by someone who claimed that she had been working there 15 years and knew the rules better than I did.

The prob Sharon is that the sector in ? is SFO-HNL

It would seem that it will not be a problem but we are trying to hustle up a replacement card from SQ

Hmm anyone have a copy of the older RCC/ADMIT policy? My understanding was that *G were allowed one guest - from *A website:

Quote:
Star Alliance Gold members and a guest can access lounges around the world -- no matter which class of service they travel in!
The new wording in RCC/ADMIT seems to have omitted this - I think by mistake because under the *G info it continues:

Quote:
GUESTS MUST ENTER THE LOUNGE WITH AN ELIGIBLE
STAR ALLIANCE GOLD MEMBER AND MUST DEPART ON A
STAR ALLIANCE MEMBER AIRLINE BUT MAY TRAVEL ON A
DIFFERENT FLIGHT
If guests were only allowed when travelling in F then this note would be meaningless. I think this is an unintentional omission.

B Watson,
from my experience, I have had no problem using a RCC lounge when travelling domestically on UA in any class together with my wife - using either my SEN (LH) or PPS (SQ) card. And to clarify further - this for pure doemstic US flights - NO same day international connection. In addition my wife does not have any *Gold card.

Cheers

Thomas

Experience at SFO, earlier this year - domestic coach
My experience, earlier this year, was that by presenting my RG (*A Gold) and coach BP SFO-MIA, me and a guest, were warmly welcomed. No questions asked. SFO Lounge is very nice.

BrisbanePE, Upon re-reading the profile, and seeing that note at the bottom,

Quote:

GUESTS MUST ENTER THE LOUNGE WITH AN ELIGIBLE
STAR ALLIANCE GOLD MEMBER AND MUST DEPART ON A
STAR ALLIANCE MEMBER AIRLINE BUT MAY TRAVEL ON A
DIFFERENT FLIGHT

I would agree that this does seem to imply that a non-UA/US Star Gold can bring in a guest to any RCC traveling on any itinerary, but it is certainly not 100% clear.

Maybe the other profile referenced, S*RCC/ALLIANCE has more detail? Can anyone post that?

Just flew out JFK-LAX yesterday. As a TG *A Gold I was admitted to the RCC along with my wife as a guest. No problem whatsoever. The agent did not ask to see the gold card either since the status is clearly shown on the BP.

One scenario I don't see discussed here is for a non-elite with a membership to an affiliated airlines club (e.g. Air Canada's).

If I (an almost but not quite UA premier) purchase an Air Canada club room membership, it is my understanding that I can then use the RCC any time I am on a *A itinerary (even domestic). Can I bring in a guest? Do I get drink chits? Does my guest? Can anyone point me to where this is documented?

If any of the answers are no, will any change to yes once I make premier?

Followup: It appears the answers to the above are Yes (for free), No, No, No, No.

Question:

Had a nice, eh "discussion" with the guardians of the RCC on Thursday. I was travelling ORD-YUL on UA Express. Let me into the lounge (UGS) but denied me drink chits. I asked them about this and they reluctantly gave me two as "a special one-time exception." (Boy do I hate it when they say that.) I asked for a supervisor to clarify the policy, because if I'm not entitled, I don't want them (screw 'em, I say). They were trying to contact a supervisor and I waited as long as I could but I had to catch my flight (amazing - a UAX flight actually left on time from ORD!!)

Does anyone know the answer?
