No problem, cblaisd. We both learned something. At least you knew how to generate the link. Now if you would teach me how to set a link I'd be insanely happy!!

Now when you want to paste the link into another Windows app (or into a FT note), simply put your cursor where you want the link and press Ctrl-V

Sorry to be OT. Is there any easy way to figure out the URL of the flyertalk page you're on? I right click, go to properties and copy the URL from there. But there's got to be an easier way, no??

If you log on to FlyerTalk Miles with this link:
http://www.flyertalk.com/forumcgi/Ultimate.cgi
...the various pages will show up correctly in your URL field of your browser window. You will be logging on directly without the FlyerTalk folder "tab" frame.

Not wanting to offend you, auh2o, but given your stature, I would find it very difficult to conceive of anyone finding you to be threatening to an aircraft. Why any female FA could subdue you in an instant, and I am certain you'd help her in the task! Are you sure that passenger wasn't just concerned you were trying to take all the Dom?

I'm not a piot fan- but GIVE HIM A BREAK!.
Stimpy- Good Luck- the captain IS the boss.
JS- since when was the pilot an "*******"?
- if he feels more comfortable without people hanging out near the galleys-so be it!
Can you PLEASE have some empathy for the employees- those that are left- and those about to be furloughed!!!

I think a sensible balance of rules is all that is required here. Clearly some crew are taking things too far - after all aren't we supposed to be safe once we get past all the new security?
It would perhaps be best simply to produce a standard letter to UA complaining about unreasonable enforcement of the rules and naming the captain(s) that are doing this.
The stories on the AA are horrific and have pushed me in to finally deciding not to remake EXP on AA.
I hope UA are listening.

Shareholder - you are so perseptive! The female FA (5'5" and 105) looked at the woman, then looked at me and exclaimed "You have to be kidding - even I could take HIM down". We both thought it was funny, the concerned pax did not. Soon after I took my seat. Again, perseptive.

I get the impression that they are very frustrated by the lack of leadership of both, in this regard.
It seems to me that they feel the only place they are getting suggestions from are their fellow pilots or their union.
And I think that's why they keep saying "were're on our own now."</font>

However, the strict "Please remain seated" instructions give me visions of Roller Derby type scuffles as seated pax rush to an empy lav.

This weekend returning to ANC from MSP (on NW) I stood in the galley in the front of a 757 and chatted for about 15 minutes with a really nice FA.
Part way through the conversation, a second FA joined in our discussion. Neither one seemed uncomfortable or bothered in the slightest.

On a flight I took on a 727 on Sept 17, the pilot said he was imposing a new rule and asked passengers in F to wait until the forward lav was free before getting out of their seats.

Seems silly, especially since CNN in the RCC is discussing nothing but the WTC.

OK, I'll amend my stance to say I would stand up and seriously challenge the Captain to make sure that he knew what he was doing and that I was going to take the matter up with UA. If he persisted in his demand, I would take his name and employee number and go back to my seat.
