The 20% can't be right. I flew almost 15k in the 1st Quarter last year, and yet my qualifying mileage is 9,200 miles.

My partner (no status) got the targeted mailing. Last year she had maybe 4k miles. But in 1999 she went to Hong Kong and a number of domestic trips. I don't recall how many miles UA required of her...she has no plans to fly anytime soon. So, mark her ORD, no status, reduced 2000 travel versus 1999. And I don't think her Web miles were checked more than a couple times..and I would have been the one checking. I am in charge of miles.

Now why do you suppose that made me smile?

Just to further explain, it was a 40% increase over first quarter of last year, no apparent relation to last year's total mileage.

20% sounds right in my case. Also, total flights during 1st quarter 2000 was six just in case there may be a minimum number of flights to qualify as a recipient.

Dang...

Evidently I flew too much Q1, 2000.

I need to fly 13,650 to get the bonus.

Why can't I get the card? I did not fly them in 1Q 2000, but did from Sept 2000-Dec 2000, and made 1K.

It is a shame that they don't send these things out to everyone.

My card stated 2,000 miles needed for double miles promo. I did not fly UA at all in Q1 2000, except for award flights, but I flew 15,000 paid miles in Q4 1999. The eligible flights for double miles do include international flights, but no codeshares so it looks like UA flights on LH do not qualify. I am planning several international trips and look forward to triple miles with the PremEx and this bonus.

I'm a 2P and got one with a 2000 mile threshold. My wife, with the same status and flights last year as I, got nothing. Go figure.

well, if it's targeted to those who flew very little in Q1 2000, I should probably have gotten one, but I haven't yet. I only flew 1,000 miles then (and haven't set foot on a UA plane yet this year). gimme gimme gimme!!

From the examples above, it sounds to me as if the offer was targeted to people who flew less in 2000 than in 1999. (And if you flew more in 2000 than 1999, despite SFH, then UA may think it doesn't need to do anything to keep you for 2001. )

I flew 55,000 miles in 2000 but only 30,000 in 1999 -- no offer.

In 2000 I gave UA about twice as much biz and still got the offer.
