Thanks guys. I talked to the MP Center again and yeah, UA international flights qualify, but not codeshare (AC, LH etc). My YVR - SFO flight qualify 
, but still not my SFO - YVR (coz on AC)

I can verify that intl UA flights *do* count. I've got a couple credited to my Hilton account already.
