.bomb error: Name does not match MP number

.bomb error: Name does not match MP number

I booked a ticket over the phone a few days ago. When I try to request an upgrade on .bomb I get the message: 'The passenger name in the reservation and the Mileage Plus number do not match.' Upon closer inspection, when my ticket was booked, my middle name is 'MRS' and my husband's middle name is 'MR'. I called 1K desk and was transferred to the India help desk (oh why didn't I just hang up!). I asked them to change the name and they said they can't because it was already ticketed. I anticipate continued problems with this at check-in, trying to get mileage credit, etc. Has anyone ever had this happen and is there anything I can do? The agent was able to request the upgrade successfully and she said the name looks correct to her.

Why not just change your .bomb profile name to match until after you take this flight?

I have about 6 itineraries going at any one time so that would likely mess up the other ones. I did try it, but you can't change your name online, you have to submit it to Mileage Plus - I hate to think what other problems that would cause. But thanks for the suggestion, was hoping I could switch it, manage the upgrade, and then switch it back.

The phone/airport agents do that quite often... it happened to me on my last flight (I booked with paper vouchers, so it was at the airport). I didn't get any error messages, although I also didn't try to upgrade... but FWIW, I had zero problems at check-in and the miles posted just fine despite the apparent name difference.

I've had this happen as well. Instead of Ms. Go Places, my name always shows up as "PLACES/GOMS" on boarding passess from itineraries booked online. I keep waiting to be stopped by a TSA agent looking for "GOMS" on my ID, but so far, so good.

The only times I have had MP credit not posting due to mismatched name was on LH - they were REALLY anal. I changed my .bomb name in the preferences and had no further problem with subsequent itineraries.
