1k Upgrading on domestic flights

I'm at 100% out of TPA foeva'! Ted has been good to me!

In all honesty, I have only ever missed one upgrade, which was SFO-SAN, and I usually buy cheap fares and use 500'ers. This includes a lot of hub-to-hub flights, including ORD-SFO and transcons. Sorry to hear it's not working as well for some other folks.

Need more info! @:-) You're not telling us what type of aircraft you're flying. For example, some of the flights between SFO & ORD (which is a route you say you regularly fly) use Boeing 757 or widebodies (Boeing 767 & 777) with a goodly number of FC seats, while others are on the littler planes (Boeing 737, Airbus 320) with only 8-12 FC seats. The aircraft makes a huge difference, esp. given that SFO apparently has the most 1K & UGS members in the system.
