Denver Gate Changes
Concourse A gates gone in 9 to 12 months...
Denver International Airport Tuesday announced an agreement with United and Frontier airlines that will meet the carriers' capacity needs in the near term and allow both companies to increase choices for the flying public. Frontier and United, together with their express carriers, handle more than 77 percent of DIA's passengers.

That is great news! Now I can easily use the RCC when flying TED to LAS rather than use the club on Concourse B and then going back to Concourse A to get the TED flight,

RJ Facility
Does this mean DEN is going to get a remote RJ terminal similar to IAD's G Gates?
EEEEEWWWW.
Where will it be located? Will there be a shuttle? If so will the shuttle depart from B?

I'm interested in seeing these dual loading jetways. That would be a help for the overloaded gates.

Love the Ted flights moving to B. That will be great!

The A Concourse restaurants and bars stink also. There are far more choices on the B one. This is good news!

I'm always struck by a contrast I have noticed while walking through Concourse A. It is dominated by local airlines such as Frontier, and Great Lakes Airlines (world class, not), and the exotic destinations they serve. Then it the middle of it all are the Lufthansa and British Airways jets at gates that hardly represent an international presence.
I always thought it was a terrific move on UA's part to hold on to the Concourse A gates restricting Frontier's operations. However, I can see the inconvenience to UA customers changing planes from TED to mainline (or mainline to TED). Please, don't turn my favorite gates (B30-32, B34-36) into TED gates.

I didn't see anything in the press reslease, but I wonder how they will deal with the Ted flights from Mexico? If I am not mistaken, all international arrivals for the entire airport currently go into A.

Nothing like a real world experience to help me understand why consolidating operations into the B Concourse is a good thing.
The other day, my mailine LAX-DEN flight was delayed, first waiting for a group of flight attendents who were late from their inbound flight and then sitting at the end of the taxiway waiting for our numbers (I think the pax. manifest count didn't match the manual count, among other things). We even took a 'victory lap' onto 25R to reposition us at the end of the queue. Anyhow, we got into DEN about 20 min late, which ate up most of my connection time for my TED flight to MDW. As we were on out taxi into the gate, the purser announced that they had called ahead and let operations know many of us had ultra-tight connections. The crew was even nice enough to hold the cabin up to let us (about six of us) dash of the plane first.
So, I race over to the train to Concourse A and hoof it to the gate (about 7 min) only to find that they have just closed the flight and are pulling the jetbridge. For some reason, not only did they not hold the flight, but Ted decided to leave a few minutes early (Rar!). Since it was the last flight out of the day, I ended up with an involuntary reroute onto Frontier.

Maybe next time they can plan an airport that is near the city it is named for, and doesn't cost a fortune in time & cost to get to/from? What a fooking nightmare it was to get from/to the airport this weekend. PHX was a breeze, but having to pay $19 for a Super Shuttle and be outside by 3:45 a.m. for a 6:25 a.m. flight in MR mode (have BP, no checked luggage) sucked. And those tram chimes! They sound like the slot machines at LAS.
OTOH, security between 5 & 7 a.m. was a breeze. ^
