I'd like 895 or UA to HKG to get its own thread. I think there are enough problems with 895 alone to merit a single thread.

I agree Dulcamara. Something fishy. Wondering if 'fuel stop' is really = 'we have empty seats, lets fill'em with peeps from SF, to heck with the poor sods who got on in Chicago'

An extra stop for fuel is not a big deal, unless it is out of the way. If it is fuel, then stop in ANC. They could even position a fresh flight crew there to take over. Stopping at SFO for fuel only makes sense when the weather is quite strange on the polar route.
