Angry E+ seating on United.com

I was attempting to book a simple roundtrip this morning on united.com, SFO-LAX-SFO. When I got to the seat selection pop-up, there were no E+ seats available; strange, I thought.

So I checked random other dates in Jan., March. No E+ seats available to me. I am Premier, have been all year - could it just be a bug? I am logged in and using my profile for the booking.

I've yet to have a problem obtaining E+ seating. Always a breeze. I'm assuming that routing is united mainline, not xpress, right (xpress would not have E+)?

Also 2P, and a random check of next weeks flights showed plenty of E+ seats available.

If you want a particular itinerary and/or don't want to pay the phone fee, you could always book it online and then call to get the seats changed, since the issue is web-site related. Or wait for the inevitable schedule change

No problems here. I just looked at a random date in January. I second the notion of just booking and calling to adjust seats. Shouldn't be a problem, I do it all the time when corporate travel books my flights and I want different seats.

Most of the SFO-LAX metal is 752. BTW, the X+-jets do have a E+ section. I'm starting to see them show up on future itineraries out of FAT, our local, but just on some routes/times, mainly to/from DEN.

about explus
explus is the first regional jet service to offer customers the premium amenities of United First and the extra legroom of Economy PlusSM.

You are kidding!! I've been hoping - nay, praying - for this. Too much to ask for the "improved" CRJ to SFO or LAX, but FAT-DEN has always been the biggest PITA.

I did look at the schedule later this month and saw at least one per day, in both directions....

I can't remember the times but my bet is it's the first CRJ of the day, meaning early morning FAT-DEN, and late day DEN-FAT.

I agree...have flown them numerous times to connect elsewhere. Not as "fun" as the EM's going to SFO/LAX, but then the ride's a lot longer too...

Personally, I've gotten where I drive to SJC or SFO rather than fly out of FAT, unless the fare is only 20-30.00 more for the local. The car is a lot more comfortable.

Will definitely have to give the new X+ a try though....

You can also do a phantom booking with a fully-refundable, no-restrictions Y ticket or a standard award ticket and see what seats you can get, since those should get anyone into E+. If you see E+ with those but not your "regular" bookings, then the system isn't recognizing your 2P status.
