Seat Selection Function on UAL website
Thought I might catch the flights below, not at all busy from what I can make out. In fact surprising empty but thats another story.
Now I'm a lowly Premier and when going to the seat selection function I kindly get offered no selection possibility at all on the outward leg.
On my return I get one middle seat in E-!!
Weyhey thanks UA I can see it must be tricky to squeeze me in there. Suprised I wasn't offered an E-- (i.e. the Loo).
So my question is, the software clearly works off some other equations. Isn't it poor management that I'll have to waste someones time ringing up UA to get my seat manually entered in E+ (assuming they have them).
On a side point, does anyone think the probability of getting an Op Up is enhanced if a frequent flyer doesn't get booked in E+. Will the gate agent feel sorry for them, and thus should I just stick with my middle seat?
Thanks

Scotland,
Were you actually logged into UAL or just checking flights?
I have accidently made that mistake before... and it cleared up as soon as I was in my account.
What dates are you looking at and I will check to see if I get the same problem?

Outbound 26th August
Return 30th August
I also logged in so that I could get the E+ seats but to no avail.

Are you positive you are logged in? Is your status showing properly?
I just logged in and "booked" those flights... and I see all the green and blue available seats.
For example, CDG to ORD... only 4 seats in the E+ section are gone... from rows 15 - 23.
For example, ORD to LHR... 47 out of 74 E+ seats are still available.
On both flights, plenty of blue economy seats are available also.

I just logged in at ual.com and went through the motions of reserving seats on those two flights on those dates. 32 of the 36 E+ seats are available for selection on the outbound flight and 36 of 63 E+ seats are available on the return flight.
As stated, you must be logged in (and, I think, have your settings at "Expert" mode) to see the green seats.

I've encountered similar problems of late when using the UK and Netherlands versions of the UA website. I have just gone ahead and booked without selecting seats, and find I get given automatically the furthest forward E+ seats (window because that is the preference in my profile).
If I don't like what I get, I call UA. A waste of UA's resources and my time, but it does work.

Thanks chaps, typically now I log in and all is fine! Maybe it didn't register my log in earlier or something.
