Holy cow, that is some impressive detail. So if I interpret this correctly, as a UA 1P on an up coming trip DEN-SFO-ICN ICN-NRT-LAS (stop)-DEN. I should have access to the RCC for SFO-ICN and and NRT-LAS. Also, I can bring a guest and am entitled to 2 drinks in each. Is ICN-NRT considered *TRANSOCEANIC*, therefore allowing access in ICN?

So if I read the rules on STPC correctly, is the following true?

Say I fly paid 1st IAD - FRA (UA), connecting to the LH flight FRA - JNB in paid 1st. There is an 11-hour layover. UA will get me a day-room. Yes or no?

Is this only for UA to UA flights, or does it work for UA to LH flights as well?

Thanks,

Will

Yes, if the ticket is written: IAD UA X/FRA LH JNB

No if the ticket is written: IAD UA FRA LH JNB

On your return, LH is the delivering carrier-- and I'm sure that F on LH JNBFRA is more than 350NUCS -- meaning that LH is responsable for any STPC in accordance with their policy-- whatever that is. You have to check LH's STPC policy.

I'm sorry, but I'm really confused. What does the "X" mean or change? FWIW, the ticket shows: "WAS UA X/FRA Q55.00 LH JNB" so I guess I can ask, then. Does one do this at IAD, or do I go to the RCC and ask?

And what's 350NUCS? I do see "NUC" on the ticket preceeding a large number, but I don't know what it is.

Thanks,

Will

Doesn't need to be paid First. Can be F C or Y booking classes.

X/ followed by a city means an stop en-route (less than 24 hours int'l; 4 domestic; exceptions apply).
O/ followed by a city is a stopover en-route (more than 24 hours int'l; 4 domestic).

Nothing would usually imply a fare break.

Call reservations before hand and arrange it.

Neutral unit of currency-- IATA jargon for how much money each carrier gets for a given ticket.

What is your fare basis?

I'm not seeing it. All it shows is 1st. This may be because I'm looking at the pdf receipt, which doesn't have much of the arcane stuff. I'll check out ITA (this is where I got the RUC thingy yesterday) and see if I can find it. All I see is "First," which isn't a fare basis, I think.

Thanks for all the help.

What was the validity of this program? I called MP yesterday to ask why I didn't get this on last week's RT IAD-BRU in C class and they said they had no record of such a bonus. I was getting this last year as a 1K. I have a print out of this promotion but no expiration code or MP offer code. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Any updated VDB compensation rules?

I was VDBd from a redeye flight yesterday. The next flight out was at 610am arriving at 1210pm, while my scheduled flight was at 1115pm arriving at 510am. When volunteers were requested, I confirmed that Travel Credits were an option in lieu of the travel voucher and was confirmed as such. However, when processing the travel credit, the Supervisor insisted that $400 travel credit is the max, even though the delay was greater than 6 hours. When I pointed out to her that she had processed $600 in TC for me just a few months earlier, she said these were the new policies.

Does anyone know if the VDB compensation policies for domestic flights has changed? The most recent posting here is over 2 years old. could anyone post an updated policy?

thanks for your help.

Yes, there is a new VDB profile, but I don't know what it is. I was chatting with a customer service rep this evening and she mentioned that there was a new one.

There is no promo or offer code - it's the standard "class of service" bonus. The reason you didn't get the bonus is probably because it takes 2-4-weeks for the bonus miles to credit.

so, as i read the RCC/ADMIT profile:
35NI/ TO OR FROM THE UNITED STATES EXCLUDING SAN JUAN
36NI/ CUSTOMERS WHO TRAVEL TO CANADA MEXICO AND
37NI/ CARRIBEAN DESTINATIONS WILL BE TREATED AS INTL AND
38NI/ CUSTOMERS WILL HAVE ACCESS TO THE RED CARPET CLUB

If I travel ORD-SJU on Ted, I should get RCC access as a 1K? It's Caribbean (note how UA spelled it wrong), but the whole 'excluding San Juan' line has me a bit perplexed.

Anyone have experience with this?

You can always try, but unfortunately the reports here are that ORD-SJU is considered domestic, and therefore does NOT get RCC access.
