After using the United iPhone app on my last trip, I ignore EasyUpdate messages, they are always too far behind realtime changes.
I had a flood of emails and 17 voicemails after last weekends adventure, I ignored them all, they were out of sync with what was happening and too long to listen to "Hello This is United" *DUH*
Given that he goes on Holidays from time to time and doesn't inform me of changes, I now prefer to run my own checks of what is happening.
Now if only the iPhone app would default to United and not CO

A sort-of explanation from United. They claim that it was a cancellation of the original flight the previous day that triggered this event. I don't understand how this could be. They may be confused - they also claim I was automatically rebooked the same day, when in fact it was the following day. I suspect that EasyUpdate's records may not be in any better shape than its notification.

I got an EasyUpdate last year that was caused by a downline flight CX and would have cost me a whole day of a short trip to YYZ. I called and Mr. EasyMenu didn't understand my voice and I got ICC, where they lied and called it weather. I checked United Cargo, and it turned out it was MX. I called back and got the 1K desk, who sent me over to AC's non-stop.

When you know your flight is going to be delayed 4 hours and in order to make your connection you get yourself rebooked on another one half an hour later which will only be delayed 45 mins, it is amusing to see how long the system takes to realize that you are on a different flight. I got a whole series of EasyUpdates recently on a flight that I had transferred out of several hours previously, before it switched to telling me about the flight I was actually going to be on.

Not sure if this fits the definition of overaggressive...but it was a first for me--I got an EasyUpdate e-mail flight alert this morning letting me know that my flight was on time. It says:
The following flight time has been revised....
Estimated Departure Time: 7:02 a.m. on time (which is the scheduled departure time)

Today I got a phone call at 3:28 am telling me that my flight (in two days) is on time.
I hope this is not a CO enhancement.

At first I though it might be a cancellation or a time change, but nah, it wasn't.

Interesting. I've never gotten an EZ Update for a non-event and certainly never at 3:28 am. Online it shows the update was delivered at 10:29 am GMT.

I got one a few hours ago for a flight tomorrow night! For a minute, I was worrying that I'd booked the wrong date!
