I guess I'll never understand.
I flew SFO-MUC via LHR a few weeks ago on a cheapo ticket. I requested upgrade over the phone using certs.
I got upgraded but they never took the certs!

On my ual.com mileage summary (excerp below), it says I flew C Class (full-fare business). Clearly wrong.

22-Aug-02 UA 0954 C Class SFO to LHR 5368 5868 11236
23-Aug-02 LH 0671 Y Class LON to MUC 500 0 500
26-Aug-02 UA 0931 C Class LHR to SFO 5368 5868 11236
26-Aug-02 LH 0660 K Class MUC to LON 500 0 500

It didn't really post as Full Fare C or you would have received the fare bonus in addition to your status bonus.

It just shows C.

But that error can help in other ways, such as on any route promotions.

Now THAT is novel, emailing a thread to yourself! Guess it is faster to find that bookmarks most times?

Just added a piece on how to access "My Itineraries" as a lot of newer users do not seem to know that feature allows them to track upgrades clearing etc.

OZ - is there anyway you can put all this information somewhere where we can bookmark it and keep it as a handy referance? Maybe it can actually go on the seatguru site?

With ozstamps' permission, I'll incorporate it into the Unofficial Guide to United Airlines.

On CO & VS last week, it was a deeply discounted first class fare. The boarding pass came out "J" class.

slawecki - this thread is listing only UNITED booking classes, so not sure if what you posted refers to that?

The Concorde seats we booked last year were IIRC also in "Z" class on BA and I guess many other airlines run that class. I'd be surprised if UA do not use it for something. I will update the list if anyone can confirm a UA "Z" class and what it was for.
