About a week ago I was on an NRT-SFO flight. While waiting for customs I noticed (everyone in the room noticed) two heads sticking up -- far up -- above the crowd, the taller appearing to be about 7'4" or so. Several people in the crowd identified him as Yao Ming, a Chinese basketball player going to play in Texas.

Ran into the guy who played Mini Me in the Austin Powers films today. He took out his 17" PowerBook, and then complained about not getting 5x miles even though he's been MRing for the last three months.

On 2/20/04 I was flying NRT-SIN on UA. I saw Ichiro boarding NRT-SEA to head on his way to baseball spring training - he was the last to board, after giving a brief interview to the Japanese media at the airport.

On 3/26 HKG-SIN UA 869, I saw Nancy Sit Ka Yin (HKG actress - plump lady with a mole on forehead) heading to the back of the aircraft. She acted in several HKG serials - "zeng qin" and "virtues of harmony" http://www.spcnet.tv/tvb_virtuesofharmony.shtml

In February on a flight from SFO to Denver (learned later that he lives in Marin County north of SF), we sat across from Sean Penn, wife and child. FA's made a big fuss over his Oscar nomination - later a big win. He and the wife did not speak to each other on the entire flight. I was amazed that he gave her accolades on Oscar night. I figured them for an imminent divorce. First class UA. Anyone know if the kid with long hair and a skateboard is a girl or boy???!
In 1991, Miles Davis and band in Frankfurt were next to us on an economy TWA flight. As we arrived at the gate I saw two huge guys in a fist fight and was alarmed that we might be on a flight with them. Yep, band members. Their fellow musicians calmed them down. I sat next to the business manager who got an autograph for our 9 yr old daughter.
Does Oprah's main squeeze count? Saw Stedman at the Chicago UA lounge.

I guess Jesse Jackson must be a FF on UA... I saw him on ORD-MSY this past Saturday (4/10/04). Took 2A on a 733 although after we landed he just stood outside of the gate talking to people. I wonder what his status might be?

I was flying DEN-STL a year or so ago, and when I was boarding, I noticed that the guy in front of me had no arm, including the shoulder. He was sitting across from me in 2B. I saw that it was Dave Dravecky, the former San Diego Padre and San Francisco Giant who lost his arm to cancer. He was headed to a speaking engagement, and I got the opportunity to talk to him on the plane and in the terminal afterwards. He is a very strong man of faith and an exceptional person. His is a very inspirational story.

I saw Rev. Jesse Jackson and Louis Farrakhan at ORD (at different times), Jodie Foster at LAX, and a singer from the UK band Blue at SIN. Sat next to the girl who plays Helen of Troy in the upcoming movie Troy (but that was on an Alaskan Airline flight from LAX).

I flew with Little Richard about 2-3 years ago. Poor guy can hardly walk now. He and one other flew first, rest of the band in coach. Also flew with Ike of Ike and Tina Turner fame. His entourage was rounding up folks in the waiting area to ask him for an autograph. He passed out photos signed "I still like Ike" to them. Whole group flew coach.

On a LAS-LAX flight we had game show host Bob Eubanks. He dropped his ticket stub and my wife picked it up and kept it. 
He had no status and no FF #.
The funny thing is we are around celebs all the time so i got a kick out of my wife picking that up.
