Historical flight performance?
Hi all -- With all the usual caveats that past is not prologue, does anyone have access to historical flight info for UA97 (BNE-SFO) that goes further back than flightaware?
I am possibly booking it for early July, but this trip is (unfortunately) one of those trips with a low margin of error in case of flight cancelations. Of course it's on me if there's a problem, but I'm trying to get a sense of how much I should expect that, while also keeping in mind that I know the fleet gets maxed out during summer travel season. Thanks in advance!!

How far back does flightaware go? Flightly performance for the past 60 days/35 flights has it at 86% early and 3% on time. It was late 11% of the time but no cancellations in this time period.
As for irrops options, there is also SYD/MEL/AKL-SFO. If the inbound SFO-BNE is cancelled you'd likely have good advance notice for rerouting.

Flightaware (the free version, at least) just goes back for two weeks, and so more data points are most welcome. I wasn't sure if it's even possible to get data from the past 12 months or so, just to see how well it did during last year's northern summer.
I use ExpertFlyer all the time for other "insider" flight info, but have typically not paid much attention to historical flight performance, and so I'm also curious where other folks get this info from (didn't know about flightly..will have to look it up!).

However, I would suggest that the additional history may not be that helpful but being aware how you will develop a Plan B if a problem occurs

June was pretty bad for cancellations, but July also had one.
A15 is arriving within 15 minutes of schedule (which is a DOT metric); A60 is arriving within 60 minutes of schedule (which I think is a more relevant longhaul metric).
Code:
month | a15 | a60 | cancellations ------------+-----+------+--------------- 2023-01-01 | 87% | 94% | 0 2023-02-01 | 61% | 96% | 0 2023-03-01 | 74% | 97% | 0 2023-04-01 | 66% | 79% | 1 2023-05-01 | 77% | 97% | 0 2023-06-01 | 74% | 85% | 3 2023-07-01 | 57% | 80% | 1 2023-08-01 | 70% | 90% | 1 2023-09-01 | 71% | 97% | 0 2023-10-01 | 87% | 97% | 1 2023-11-01 | 81% | 94% | 0 2023-12-01 | 94% | 97% | 0 2024-01-01 | 90% | 100% | 0 2024-02-01 | 93% | 93% | 0 2024-03-01 | 81% | 91% | 0 2024-04-01 | 90% | 100% | 0 2024-05-01 | 68% | 90% | 0

I am in total agreement with WineCountry. You can look at all of the charts and data on past performance, but things can go in all sorts of directions for the future. Just have a general plan and go with the flow...your stress level will thank you

Thanks all for the info and suggestions! The performance data that mduell shared from a year ago is not as promising as one would like, but I will definitely have several plan B's that vary depending upon how early I know there's a problem. Wish me luck!
