This us an archive thread, the active thread is General discussion of UA's inflight service (Domestic / International, all cabins)
previous thread: COVID Era UA inflight service changes

Thread is for general discussion of the state of UA in-flight service / catering, comparison to other carriers, past UA offerings and concerns with management decisions.

For a specific post about a recent in-flight food, use the appropriate Let's Eat .... thread.

The current Onboard Service descriptions by UA.com

Long-haul international premium cabin dining
North America, Caribbean and Latin America premium cabin dining
United Economy dining

Since the UA website is extremely vague, I'm looking for a few volunteers to submit data, and I will summarize to complete the wiki. kind regards, phkc070408

Being told to use the bottle you were given is so beyond unacceptable, I am turning red just writing this - please report that flight attendant to 1K voice or customer service asap please.

To be fair, after the meal, one of the attendants offered left over desserts(raspberry tart I think or a cheese plate). I declined both. For the water situation, boarding for both BOS and EWR flight was delayed yesterday as the aircraft was too hot in London and needed time to cool down. I finished the bottle of water as soon as I settled in my seat.

Even in Y they would pour a cup. This is so bizarre.

I have had this water bottle issue twice in Polaris already (last 2 months).
I just rolled my eyes at myself.
It is like a crime to ask for more water.

Why? The planes are full. we give them our money and keep flying and putting up with this miserable service. And earnings are looking very healthy for United. So you can complain as much as you want - as long as you keep on flying the friendly skies with United this forum means nothing to United Management. They are meeting their financial targets and that is all that matters.

Same here on my last EZE-IAH on Polaris - The "senior++" flight attendant actually said - "I am too busy now - you have a water bottle there. "

So my impression is that the "things will be better after June 1st" was a load of baloney.

I shudder to think what I'll be served on my LHR-US today.

The numbers on the left are the number of customer meals available. The numbers on the right are the number of crew meals available. When we run out of customer meals, we use crew meals.

Thank you to everyone in this thread. I am working the Polaris galley position next month and haven't done so in several years. I watched some inflight training videos to learn what the Polaris service was these days and then I came here to see what was actually being served. This food makes me sad and embarrassed. I may type up some menus and print out a few dozen copies to hand out to the customers. United does say 1 dessert item only per person, although I don't see why we can't offer seconds if there are some leftover. Also, PDB is to be choice of water or sparkling wine served near the end of boarding. When I'm a passenger, I like a mimosa and I'd prefer to have it just after I board.

Polaris is supposed to have printed menus, right? Why are menus so hard to manage?

I see no mention on the United website under United Polaris: service from takeoff to landing nor a press release indicating anything about menu's. - so I don't think a expectation of menus are warranted.

I had a chat with the purser on my flight and basically the supply chain is too unreliable to have printed menus. The wines are always different, and catering changes at the last minute. So it's understandable.
