Good idea but not DFW - would think there'd be more trees.
Not ORD - would think you'd see not only the perimeter fence but also the immediate development and businesses.
Alas, not MCI either. Good thought given the openness.
And, yes, the A/C was a E175.
Here's a less wider shot - see if this helps:

Given that you were at DFW mid-afternoon on an A319 (first photo) and are somewhere else on an E175 around sunset (second photo), I think that means you went through IAH and took the second photo within two hours flying time of there. Can we assume you left TX? If so potential options might be TUL, OKC, LIT (eliminated), MSY (no), or other smaller outstations that I don't think have ramp space of that size. So of the limited options,
Or am I way off base?
edit: after a quick poke around with flight schedules, it looks like IAH-TUL evening flight is served by CRJ and IAH-OKC is served by ERJ, so I amend my guess to OKC.

I dunno, I think outskirts of ORD over that way look a bit rural — but anyway, clearly that's not it!

So of the limited options,I guess it looks most like TUL?[revised, see edit]
