BUF EWR CRJ500. February 19. Nothing. Plane boarded early, ample time. FA spent more time on her starbucks than anything else before take off. Didn't even hand out the sanitary wipes. I asked for something, and was told yes, but it didn't happen. Decent service in the air. Glorious inconsistency! At least we arrived safely.

I have very low expectations. But this is one spot where UA needs to exceed that.

DL has full normal pre-COVID PDDs back in place. If United wants to play in the premium game, they need to get with the program.

And no, cheap nasty Prosecco doesn’t get you there.

No PDB loaded on SYD-IAH yesterday (11:50am departure), the wonderful crew were peeved too. I blasted on the post-flight survey.

Last 5 domestic flights, suddenly no PDB. Not even water.

OhioBoiler Mar 7, 2025 5:58 am

CLE - IAD: PDB of water or OJ offered
IAD - AUA: PDB of water or mimosa

Den to MIA no PDB, 9 March, overhead the FA's discussing. "It's up to you if you want to do it." Let that sink in. Alright then. Boarded in ample time, catering loaded as we boarded (i was second on).

Water or bubbles IAH<->SYD in past week, after none loaded in SYD a little over a week ago.

EWR-DCA Friday 7 March morning and DCA-EWR Friday 7 March evening (both CRJ550s and I was in F of course) a cup of water was offered on both as PDB.

Just additional info but FA took drink order on the ground for both due to the short flight and both already being delayed so we got prompt drinks once airborne and a cheese snack pack.

Omg! On IAH-CLT last night had open choice for PDB! First time since COVID for me! SO and I were shocked. Have seen mention of it on this thread but never experienced.

1863 phx-ewr 07.06.25 16:25 - PDB restricted to those who boarded with group 1/2

Yeah, all of my DL flights have PDB of choice and cheerful service (even 200-300 mile puddle jumps). UA is a crapshoot. UA's FAs often seem PO'd when I decline the water or bubbles/OJ options and request a Coke Zero. Most of them say, "this is all you can get", and are upset when I tell them, "OK, nothing for me."

UA 1651, IAH-EWR, had no PDB even though we were in extensive delay (ramp closing).

It is amazing that with 2 FAs up front during boarding that United is unable to provide a choice in PDB. I even flew from HKG to LAX in a half empty Polaris cabin and the choices were water and OJ. No option to pick what you want or even a creative PDB like they offered on Thai.

IME on both domestic & TATL UA flights since PDBs came back post-COVID, I am at least 80% successful when requesting an "open bar" PDB.
