On plane now departing LAX & FA brought around orange juice & apple juice. I asked for a bloody mary & FA said without skipping a beat, "We can do that once we're in the air. It's not allowed to serve hard liquor on the ground."

Lololololol. Maybe this should be in the "whoppers" thread...

I've gotten that one before too. In that instance, couldn't decide if it was an I-can't-be-arsed or if it was genuine ignorance.

Significantly delayed redeye LAX-IAH in wee hours Sunday morning, but FA still came around with bubbles and water, which I thought was nice. Everything in T7/8 had been shut for hours. Thumbs up for that.

EWR-LAX everything available. FA didn't come around with a try but instead just asked what people wanted. The old fashioned way.

LAX-xxx was water or sparkling wine only.

JAX - ORD (1/8)

We were offered a choice of sparkling wine or sparkling water prior to take-off. I did not see anyone request anything else. The pilot also came thru the first and premium economy cabins and thanked the status flyers for their loyalty.

No such service on the ORD - JAX flight a few days ago, but it was an AM departure.

LAX-IAD no PDB

LAX-IAD (B789) on Jan 8 was delayed, no PDB was offered. A FA came to ask for foods and drink orders, though!

LAX-LAS 1-11, full beverage service prior to departure in F, anything from the beverage menu. No service during the flight. Kudos to the FAs to provide beverages.

FA gave me a special-request PDB gin-on-the-rocks on PBI-EWR 6AM flight yesterday.

1/18/2025, HNL-DEN, domestic First Class, received my choice of sparkling wine or orange juice and an offer to get something else if I wanted.

ORD-LAS 1/16 - no PDB. No delays.
LAS-ORD 1/20 - no PDB Flight delayed by 32 minutes.

UA2382 LAS-IAD (1/21): Water or sparkling wine. FA walked through the cabin during boarding to offer refills of water.

Great crew overall - I've flown with the purser a few times. Both him and the other F flight attendant made multiple laps of the cabin during dinner to top up wines and then checked on everyone every 10 minutes or so after.

Feels like "PDB" has become "PBCB" - post-boarding completed beverage. :o
