Between confirmed E+ and international lounge access in Y this honestly is not a bad offer at all, if I fly enough this year. Of course, given everything, that's a big if.

I took it.
Both of those are good offers IMO.

The decision is really based on how much you personally value the perks (additional miles, third bag, PP/upgrades, number of E+, etc.) and how often you think you'll use them in 2021.
Thanks! This seems to be the consensus. If only I knew how much I'd exactly travel this year, ha. I may stick to Gold just to save the cash.

Accepted the $449.00 offer for upgrading to Platinum. Felt the buy up offer was half decent... E+ seating for family of 4 in upcoming trip to HNL helped to sway my decision. But then again, I might feel monumentally stupid later...

Not eligible for the buy up offer to Platinum. Not that I'd do it anyway as I think Platinum is virtually worthless over Gold but I was curious.

If you buy up to 1K from Platinum do you get the 1K Plus Points?

Thanks! I recommend the buy up to a buddy whom paid I believe $2200 to go from platinum to 1K this past Wednesday.. he said he hasn’t seen the plus points post yet I said to him I think they’ll post on February 1. But when I read the T&Cs above, I didn’t see any language regarding the same.

Does anyone know if the buy up offer may by some chance count towards my $200 Amex Platinum travel credit (year to year for incidentals)? I mostly doubt it does, but I figured I would ask.

You may want to consult Airline fee $250/$200/$100 reimbursement reports: UA only (2020), AMEX is cracking down on applicability of the credit

No offer to upgrade to Plat. It looks like the other folks in my boat got offers for about $3k, which I would have passed on anyhow.
I received an offer in email today: Upgrade to Premier Platinum for $3,234.

I definitely will be passing on that offer. Even in a regular travel year, there's no way I could get that much value out of an upgrade to Plat, and this year will not be a normal travel year.

I'm curious why I didn't have this offer two weeks ago. It's priced in line with a few others in similar circumstances to me, so it's not like they decided to offer a second round at a lower price.

Perhaps, UA Insider added the offer to you so that you would not be left out the fun for posting your offer here. LOL.

It would be hard to justify that offer if it was $323.40 so I think you made the right decision.

$3433 to upgrade to 1K
Last year:
7952 PQP
11 PQF

Not an attractive offer. Unlikely to fly until H2 of this year, and any flying I do will be in business class, so not much benefit for being 1K over Platinum.
