Cleared at door close #702 tonight from ORD to CLE. F was booked full however showing 11 checked in. I assume this was a protection for someone.

Sure, if you're GS.

There are occasional reports of people getting CPUs on award tickets even without being eligible. Stuff happens.

The only way you're going to be able to use an upgrade instrument on an award is if you're GS or -- maybe -- if you got iRROPSed into Y.

Award tickets are eligible if you have a United card.

Last week flew PDX-IAH-MTY (3/24) and returned QRO-IAH-PDX (3/30). The IAH-México-IAH CPUs cleared at 96 hours out, and IAH-PDX cleared 2 hours before departure (I was #1 on the standby at OLCI).

Hello again,

Just thought I'd let everyone know that the CPU Successes spreadsheet has been updated to this point. Also note that this spreadsheet has more than just CPU Success, it also has ToD buy-ups, GPU Success and the like which may also inform your decision on whether to roll the dice with a CPU or take the ToD offer.

Sadly, I'll be away from FT for the next couple of weeks/months as I continue my studies in the UK. If anyone is interested in carrying the mantle of UA spreadsheets/tools, feel free to PM me. Otherwise, expect these tools to be updated around Fall of this year.

Safe Travels,

James

Was completely shocked to see a Plat CPU for my DCA-SFO flight clear at T-24. Ironically I was unable to accept it as my plans had already changed, and my DCA-IAH flight did not clear.

Got CPU last PMs SLC-SFO flight on the Devils Chariot. Second real CPU of the year so not doing so great overall but I'll take anything at this point. Still waiting for RPU to clear on next weeks SFO-EWR flight, not holding breath.

UA is too nice to the GS. They provide them with Devil's Chariots with First Class. As a lowly 1K, I had to travel 47 times in the Devil's Chariot in the past two years and a half and never once they scheduled one with First Class.

DEN-ORF

got a CPU for Den-ORF on Tuesday after an IRROP. I did not get CPU for SAN-DEN, both on B738.

CPU’d at the GS window for my IAH-DCA flight on Tuesday and DCA-IAH for the return on Wednesday. I wasn’t at peak times on either flight. H fare both ways.

I'll be flying LAX-DEN-SAT tomorrow. DEN-SAT on a 739 cleared at T-96h; still hoping to clear on the LAX-DEN leg (772), but I suspect it won't.

Cleared yesterday at the gate for an ORD-DTW E70. It's about the worst upgrade there is as I went from the E+ bulkhead window to the F bulkhead aisle and the F cabin on the E70 is not really different from the E+ cabin. By the time I got on (the 4th person to board) there was no space for my laptop bag. Thankfully, the woman in 2D offered to let me put it under the seat in front of her.

At least I got TWO drinks in the air though. Plus as a Premier Platinum upgrades are hard to come by, this makes me 5/12 on the year, all short flights under 500 miles save one.

I'v been on a Premier gold status match (SEA-based Delta Gold) the last couple months and have flown 3 UA segments in the last couple weeks. Have been upgraded on 2/3 flights in that timeframe, surprisingly.

1. EWR-NAS - E+ at booking, was 7th or so out of 15 for FC (A320)
2. SEA-SFO - Upgraded at the 48-hour window, to my surprise (738)
3. SFO-SNA - Upgraded at the gate, even though all 12 FC seats were showing as checked in. Interesting that I was actually called up to the counter by the gate agent; Delta rarely does this (E175)

I have four more UA segments coming up this week: SEA-SFO, SFO-OGG, OGG-DEN and DEN-PAE. The two Hawaii legs are already totally full in FC, though I almost certainly wouldn't have cleared those anyway. Might get one on the shorter two legs, though. Enjoying my time with UA so far, although the planes I've flown in have been pretty ragged!
