I think this a great idea, as long as they respect capacity issues. Cash is king and is the only thing that matters right now.

$159 for 2 hours in the Polaris lounge isnt worth it IMO. In fact not worth it at all.

Two hours, I agree. Three or more -- I'm thinking could grab a nice shower, full meal, open bar, quiet space. Not a bad deal.

At that price I would honestly rather just check into a nearby hotel for a few hours.

Yeah, maybe 3 hours prior to flight is better, to account for boarding time. It's got to be significantly more expensive that a UC day pass, though. Don't need people camping for 6 hours, but does provide a way for UA to make up some revenue and keep Polaris staff/lounge space busier.

Slippers are on the menu. Both ORD-LHR and LHR-ORD they were not positioned on the seats at boarding, however, I sat in 1L and above me was a gigantic package of slippers. The FAs grabbed several just before pushback for guests that asked for them. Including me. Definitely available - but by request now.

Wonder if they are the sole item on the express menu.

I typed rather quickly when I made that slippers comment. I meant to say I speculate that slippers will be taken away in the future.

If UA is going to make 6-hour schedule changes, transiting passengers have to go somewhere.

I guess chances are pretty good

Lasting enhancements post COVID-19

EDIT: Started a redundant thread by mistake. Here was the meat of my post:

Call me pessimistic, but I could see many of the below happening and staying in place until UAs growth rates return to pre-crisis levels:

- Increased checked bag fees
- Seat reservation fees for all nonelite Y pax >24 hours before flight
- Charge for soft drinks on most domestic flights
- Aggressive hawking of TOD upgrades (verbal pitches at the gate, etc)
- Scaling down of Polaris onboard service: simplified dessert, termination of Saks partnership / return to generic bedding

I think they will realise the error of their ways and go to 3 across seating so we can maintain a safe distance.
