Polaris Seats
- As with Polaris on other planes, odd numbered rows A/L seats are closest to windows and typically provide views
- Even numbered A/L seats are closest to aisle
- Odd numbered D/F seats are best for couples who want to talk - there is a large partition that can be lowered, and the seats are adjacent to each other
- Even numbered D/F seats have a smaller partition and are further apart (on the aisle) but couples can communicate.
- Seats in Rows 1 and 9 have larger/wider footwells

Bassinets
  • Polaris -- 1A, 1L
  • Premium Plus - 20 AB, 20 DEF, 20 JL
  • Economy+ - 30 ABC, 30 DEF, 30 JKL, 44 DEF

I agree with WineCountryUA - lots of better options.

I just finished a CPT-EWR in 8D. I would try to avoid that seat if possible

What were the issues with the seat or its location?

How is 1A in terms of light and noise? I’m considering it for DEL-ORD in a few weeks.

1A and 1L are my two favorite seats on this plane. The light and noise are not usually too bad but I sleep with headphones and a mask. Usually, overnight, there is just one flight attendant in the forward galley and they usually only make noise during meal times. The light is always there but with a mask, I don't notice it. The only other downside is the middle front of the plane has no overhead bins (crew rest space) so overhead space can be tight up front. They frequently put the mattress covers and pajamas in one of the forward overheads which will open up when they are distributed.

Or in other word even middle is last choice (except of a galley row.
Totally agree. Odd middle is much better.

For a family of three with two tall members in PP, would 20DEF be any better than 21DEF?

I like 20 as you won't have anyone recline into you. I believe all 3 seats in row 20 have a power outlet vs 2 outlets for 3 seats in row 21.

Would you take odd middle over an even window?

Depends on whether you want to look out and/or control a window. And you have to look very carefully to see what rows have no or minimal window access.

Row 1 and 9 would be perfect IF United actually had the curtains shown in their 3D view on website- because without it, as my friend said “I swear they were doing dishes all night long”

Any thoughts on 20L? I've got it for an upcoming MUC-DEN.

I think the Bulkhead PP seats are the best. The footrest comes from below and I find it more useable. And it’s easier to climb over to the aisle without asking aisle pax to get up.

separately, I think it was asked upthread - the three center seats may have moved 1-2” more legroom than the window pairs. The Polaris section sticks back about 2” more in the middle, but the seats seem about 3” further back.
