i used a caluclator and I can get around 5000 points on united per month. so 24k is not that difficult to achiive

so i dont have to fly united, just need the tickets issued by united?

Read the post again. Must fly 4 UA flights. How ticketed is moot.

The credit will vary depending on ticket issuer, if not flying UA but crediting to UA

OP, you need, at least, one trip on UA metals with connections in both directions to take care of the 4 segments requirements for UA MileagePlus program.

Two separate issues being discussed here.

You must fly a minimum of four flight segments on United metal (any ticket stock) to earn any level of Premier status.

Separately, it sounds like you often purchase very expensive tickets. Flights on non-United metal will only earn based on the ticket price if they are United-issued (016) tickets. Otherwise, non-016 tickets on non-UA metal will credit by distance instead, using the rates and per-segment caps in the wiki of this thread: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/unit...-metal-20.html. For example, LH D class on a 220 ticket would earn 40% of the distance flown with a maximum of 1,500 PQP per segment.

For expensive fares, your earnings will be vastly higher if plating the tickets on 016 stock.

But OP won't have UA segments on those expensive tickets. So, they cannot be plated on 016 stock. OP needs to reconsider whether or not 1K status is within reach.

How does one come to that conclusions without knowing the USA destination?

OP had stated originally that he didn’t intend to travel to the US this year, which was the cause for the back-and-forth on the four UA segment requirement. While I suppose OP could be planning a bunch of trips from Europe to Cebu, it’s difficult to think of a lot of other non-US destinations that would allow someone to get a 016 ticket when starting in Europe, as UA has mostly stopped offering them for sale even when the operating airline doesn’t impose a plating restriction.

hi guys.
i will fly and credit all star flights to united once I am done with my hon qualification. I just learned there is a status match to 1k, i will try to start that on july 1st to i can get 1k until 2026.
i will just fly to the us to visit some friends and have might go to the bahamas, as I never been there.

Unlikely UA will provide match challenge from another *A program. Usually based on OW or ST programs.

Keep in mind that UA does not status match to other Star Alliance (*A) carriers.

Those are likely to work, although you may not get a match for 1K specifically.

That said, keep in mind that UA status match challenges come with a PQP requirement that must be met on UA-operated flights. Any partner flights that you take during the challenge period won't count toward meeting the challenge.

yes, i am aware, I will use united to the us and intra us to get that 1k done.
If they wont match me to 1k, than i dont have to do the challenge but can do the normal qualification on united , but i think that showing my HON status + a couple of gold cards will do the trick .
