They must be letting FlyerTalk do the editing. Just checked the link and Gold is now Group 1 for boarding, the $5 dollsr comma has been added, and probably some other corrections mentioned.

I’m pretty sure it has always been 1 economy plus companion for gold and silver since the last change, but I can be mistaken.

UA has never publicly published a set of GS benefits. But at a minimum, they get all 1K benefits plus a number of unpublished benefits.
The site is correct, it states 1 for Silver / Gold E+
but 8 for preferred seating.

These standard-legroom seats will typically be closer to the front of the aircraft behind United® Premium Plus and Economy Plus®.

If you're going to try and make fun of United's errors, you should at least be accurate in your corrections... That's only 1024 RPUs for Plat and 2048 for 1K.

Specifically, I helped 2 Silver on a TPAC reservation. UA was showing E+ seats as preferred seats. Once T-24, I tried to assign E+ to both. But the seat map showed they were already in E+.
FWIW - they don't know how to do OLCI. So unless UA proactively moved Silver to E+, I seriously doubt that I was able to get 2 Silver with E+ before T-24 without payment.
