But of course your broader point stands. If UA has a 739 on a route it's because they expect to sell more seats (both F and Y) than if they put an E75. The only time this works out in our favor is if they're wrong about that.
*739 with no mid-aft door or 2L/R plugged are limited to IIRC 189 pax due to egress restrictions

However, you don't know the "available seats for upgraders" until boarding time. Until then, you must use the following metric:
# F seats open at booking / # Y seats on the plane
The larger this fraction, the better. Anyway, we should return to discussing long E175 routes.

If 7A is taken, then 7B has unlimited legroom (even though no underseat storage). With 2 lavs, no one should need to get by you after the cabin service is completed. On these longer flights, that's a significant period of time.
