Has anyone experienced Economy on the 767-300ER? This thread's wiki entry and SeatGuru both indicate that the seats are 18.5" wide -- quite an improvement over 17" or 17.3" on other aircraft. Are these seats noticeably more comfortable?

The 767 has the best economy seats in the widebody fleet - not even close. The non-retrofitted 772s would be next in line.

Concur. I'm glad UA is retaining the 767 - its Y seats are much more comfortable than on a 777 or a 787.

Yes, the 763 sUA Y seats are great. Flew it a few months ago from Europe to the US. The amount of space made it comfortable, even though a delay meant I was at my seat for 9.5 hours total.

Thanks! Glad to hear there's a significant difference.

UA released a presser stating that as of September 15, all 5 EWR-LHR flights will have only the high-J configuration flying.

Also seems to imply these are staying on EWR-LHR exclusively (not rotating to ORD for example)

https://hub.united.com/2019-07-26-un...639354913.html

"United will operate the reconfigured 767 – which will feature the highest proportion of premium seats on any widebody aircraft operated by any U.S. carrier – between Newark/New York and London, offering more premium seats in the largest premium route in the world"

I remember way back in 2012 at a UA event hearing one of the marketing leads (from the CO side) talking about how they were trying to see if they could fly some of the 28J PS 752s on EWR-LHR.

7 years on...this is how they got it done

I am tall and flying on this plane soon. What seat would be recommended for a side sleeper?

I wonder what their plan will be for other utilization, then. 17 birds for a 5x daily route doesn't seem terribly efficient, since given the flight times, they could theoretically use only 5 birds (assuming no mx issues) to cover it. I have to think it will pop up on either ORD-LHR or IAD-LHR. EWR-ZRH and EWR-GVA seemed to be highly likely given what was discussed when this LOPA first became public. Personally, I think putting a second frequency on EWR-BRU might make a bunch of sense, or possibly a second frequency for EWR-FRA...connecting US financial centers to EU capital / main EU financial center.

Any idea when they will start selling P+ on this route? Have a flight in December and reserved a P+ seat as E+. Might they reassign me to E+?

The same press release stated

I would think not initially BUT certain changes could trigger it -- watch and (if it changes) call to see if UA will honor the seat assignment.

Not sure, if calling in might be of advantage - get the wrong agent and you might be "dragonized" back to E+ .....

Maybe I wasn't clear, only call if it switches to E+ and then plea. Agree don't call until a change occurs.

We're booked on UA941 on Sept 21...economy award tickets. Paid $298.00 to upgrade to e+ and got exit row seats 22K/L. Now we've been assigned to 36K/L which when I checked last night were going for $119 each so I wondered about a refund of the difference. This morning they were priced at $204 each. Is this how they avoid refunds? Changing the prices to reflect what they no doubt say is "market value"? It seems we got worse seats than we had. Much more leg room in an exit row, no? I doubt we have any recourse.

Just checked again and it's $172 per seat in e+.

Update: Called last night and got a full refund for the E+ seats. Tried to get same seats back (22K/L) but no go. So we're happy with 36K/L and $298 in our pockets.
