What the heck is with that purple? Gray or gold would be a better accent.

For some reason it seems to reflect the color scheme of the PE seats.

The purple is fine. It's the diagonal stripe that needs to go.

which is fine for seats, but doesn't mean I want that color draped over my person.

I do like the women's wrap coats though. Those are a nice addition.

Why are the mannequins not wearing shoes?!?!

But seriously, those are better looking than the test sweaters. Which, as I understand it, wasn't the final colors and was for wear-test purpose. But still, the test versions "Star Trek" sweater was really matronly and not fashionable.

Also, are they limiting/eliminating the casual options, so we don't have flight attendants in track suits and puffy vests?

It seems like the purple color is very popular among the airlines these days. Delta have purple on their uniform/scarf, so do many other airlines. Red color used to be very popular, I guess not anymore.

Completely wrong.

United added purple to its color scheme and its new uniforms because the purple die that is used in the manufacturing process is slightly cheaper than blue, green, or red.

It's United's sole motivation, ergo it can be the only correct answer.

You gave me a fright! I thought they were adding yet more colors to the brand, but that article is from last year announcing the existing colors.

I swear the female one with the purple shoulder is a second from the Star Trek: The Next Generation wardrobe.

It even looks like a communicator badge on the left.

It looks like new uniforms will show up soon:

(Source: https://www.paddleyourownkanoo.com/2...induced-delay/)

Looks like they are shifting from black to navy, with no purple or teal.

Also, new FA wings are coming as well:
