Also, today I learned the 739 has more seats in both F and Y than the 752.
But those are 20 lounge-ish seats vs. the 16 lie flats - or even better, the 26 J lie flats in the preUA 752s. But those are mostly on the EWR-SFO route.

Just informed by flight deck that weight and balance system is down across the USA.

Can’t push back until system is back up.

All 5 major US airlines suffering a software glitch. Causing delays from FAA.

All major airlines use a common softwarr program for something?

Apparently they all use AeroData for weight & balance calculations.... and it's down for everyone.

Oops - my inner IT engineer is screaming.

I wonder if all airlines actually use the same program for W&B - you'd assume at least one would've developed that in-house - or if AeroData rather providers th gateway to transfer that data from the company to the operational personnel in any domestic airport, i.e. it generates the printouts that they carry to the flight deck?

UA 1991 diverted to CLE (EWR-SFO) due to airport security screening system? I can't believe TSA would cause that. Arrived in SFO 8 hours 58 minutes late.

UA618 YVR-SFO 4/04 diverted to SMF due to engine #2 problem. 16+75 pax and bag offloaded. Very few seats available on SMF-SFO. None of 6 bus companies positively responded. Taxi vouchers to SFO were given. (SMF-SFO is 101 miles, posted rate is $3/mi, 20% off military/senior.) I went with a voucher in the name of a senior, $260. Final meter $312.7+2.5 before discount, 100 min trip.

I was on UA1850 ORD-CLE yesterday and was sitting next to a flight attendant who was being shuttled to CLE to takeover that flight. He told me that the diversion was due to an unruly passenger.
